Sorry to repost, but I'm genuinely curious and thread moves at FTL... :)

Here (more than just Wreav but you should find him easily enough).

Woah, that's a goldmine. O_O

That's exactly the problem.

Javik HATES HATES HATES synthetics. Hates. Drag him around sometime. You won't regret it.

Javik calmly paying his respects to a Shepard that not only let the Synthetics get away with eliminating his race scott free but then bent over and appeased them and changed his (Javik's) body into that of a half synthetic.

Why on EARTH (short of brainwashing and a total personality shift) would he being paying his respects to Shepard in this scenario?

I'd say it's just laziness on BioWares part. That's probably the reason why Javik looks and acts the same in every single ending. Brainwashing has nothing to do with it.

Uh no. It's open to interpretation. I just choose to see it differently than you. To me it's brainwashing. They gave him a synthetic glow and have him reacting the same way.

Poor Javik got brainwashed. :crying:

Euh, what about Javik? What are we talking about here? Did I miss something?

Synthesis ending. Javik's rather composed attitude at Shep's memorial.

He looked the same in my control ending (minus the green stuff on his face), so I still don't know what you're talking about. What is so "strange" about Javik in the ending? What makes him look brainwashed to you?

Like I said, he looks the same in the control ending, so how do you explain that?

Playing the devil's advocate here, Javik doesn't know that it was Shepard who consciously made the change. All he knew was that Shepard made sure the Crucible fired. For all Javik nows, it may be the scientists in charge of building the blamed thing.

Thanks... :)
So krogan rebellions 2.0...

Yeah. That Rachni slide looks omnious though. Maybe I'm overreacting but still don't get good vibes from that. :?

Considering the "requirements" for it, I believe the implication is the krogan go extinct and the rachni receive Tuchanka as their new homeworld (they don't care about radiation anyway) as thanks for helping in the war... Ironic, and chilling...

Its left too open to interpretation though. All the endings suffer from that. Less so than pre-EC but they still do.

Nah He didn't. :police: (We can do this all day...?)

Javik only goes to the memorial because he knows EDI will be there. As soon as EDI is finished hugging Liara, Javik tears EDI a new one.

Your grasping at straws.

BioWare being lazy and/or retconning their own fiction is a much more logical and much more probable explanation than Javik being brainwashed.

Even if you don't believe BioWare is cutting corners (despise all the reasons you have to believe that they do), I can think of a better in-game explanation for why Javik is paying his respects to Shepard.

Poor Javik didn't got brainwashed. :D

The first time I saw synthesis, without Shepard to keep him in check, I was half-expecting Javik to gut the newly-organically-alive EDI.

Only if you head canon it that way. Synthesis by itself does not make much sense, so you can pretty much make it mean whatever you want it to mean.

LOL still don't see him being content with it.

...and Synthesis still makes no sense in how it even works in the first place. That and for some reason the choices are on the Citadel. Rather than being on the Crucible. (Which is even more mindboggling).

@HH: I could say the same. Arguing "You're wrong!" with no proof to back it up other than saying "the devs were lazy" is well...not a real strong arguement.

Crap, let's not turn this thread into some creepy romance stuff. I rememeber once entering a Tali thread and I nearly vomited from reading that stupidity.

And you know Joker will be first in line. Even if he rejects poor Shep. :(

I usually keep any creepy thoughts to myself. Set fire to them if possible.

I blame you. :D

Very off-topic: I've never been able to view Tali romantically. She's always been like my little sister/close friend. So that stuff makes me feel weird too.

It was just an innocent thought about a threesome

So, uh, Synthesis sucks? (that's my feeble attempt to return on-topic)

Yup, although I don't believe it's due to any kind of brainwashing. ;)

*sigh*

The concept isn't bad, it's just the execution is. And, unfortunately, synthesis is what my Shep picks. It's the most altruistic option. My Shep is unwilling to condemn the Geth.
