Eh, I've never seen a romance thread that was all that bad. Except for some homophobic-ish bits in Tali's thread once.

Crap, let's not turn this thread into some creepy romance stuff. I rememeber once entering a Tali thread and I nearly vomited from reading that stupidity.

I usually keep any creepy thoughts to myself. Set fire to them if possible.

I blame you. :D

Very off-topic: I've never been able to view Tali romantically. She's always been like my little sister/close friend. So that stuff makes me feel weird too.

LOL

Don't blame djarlaks for your dirty mind. :P

Same. It squicks me and my Shep out to be honest.

I can view Tali romantically, but she'd have to wait in line behind Liara, Samara and Kelly.

Yup, although I don't believe it's due to any kind of brainwashing. ;)

I shouldn't have laughed as hard at this as I did. But yes. Yeah...it blows. I don't see how the devs made this ending with a straight face.

@Jamie9

if it is for the geth then why not just go with control. the geth wish to achieve their own future, synthesis chooses it for them

think that is one of my biggest issues with it, races aren't able to evolve, learn on their own, they have everything given to them, it blinds them to other paths, well that is among the reasons i hate synthesis. fine if someone chooses it, i will never though. Did once but that was after i beat it, chose destroy, then control land then synthesis,

Because I don't agree with Shepard controlling a giant armada of Reapers. No matter how benevolent he might be.

I don't think synthesis chooses it for them, but I seem to have a very different view of synthesis to others. I believe, in organics, it adds all the traits of synthetics. But that would all be optional, as you'd have to activate them to work (as the Geth have to activate sub-routines).

So everyone is still free to choose their own path.

It's still terribly written though.

*sigh*

The concept isn't bad, it's just the execution is. And, unfortunately, synthesis is what my Shep picks. It's the most altruistic option. My Shep is unwilling to condemn the Geth.

Well, Synthesis does have a funny concept (and it sucks that we didn't get a Saren flashback when the Star brat mentioned it), it's just me not liking the fact that everyone's turned into a cyborg. That's why I prefer Destroy.

fair enough, i think i would be a little bit more accepting of control if it was actually shep though, but a copy gets weird. although i do believe no one should have that kind of power.

The vagueness of synthesis is what really killed it for many people. That, and the fact that it shifts the genre from science fiction to pure fantasy. Disney acid sequences comes to mind...

It's not even that. My paragon Shep is idealistic to a fault. He is willing to make the hard choices (Arrival) but only as a last resort.

Control saves organics and synthetics.

But Synthesis saves organics, synthetics and the Reapers.

I, as a player, actually believe the Reapers had no part in the Cycle. It was all that damn Catalyst-Starbrat's fault.

They saw how it was awesome and almost everyone's favorite ending in Deus Ex, so they thought they could do it too. So they ripped off Deus Ex's ending and half-assed it and now we're stuck with this mess.

I recognize that green, glazed-over look in their eyes. I see the same look on religious missionaries when they come a-knocking on my door, minus the green.

 that and while it works for Deus Ex it just plain doesn't work for ME. Even if it wasn't half assed.

I couldn't even have my Shep pick it. Had to youtube it. I could just picture my Shep looking at me and going "No. I'm not jumping into weird space beam that tears me apart and mutates every organic in the galaxy. I'll do every other ending but hell no to that sh**."

yeah and i get that, i think they were created for the cycle, and doesn't matter if they do it willingly or not they are still a threat so i choose to end it. not sure if i am right or wrong but i find it to be the safer option. sucks the geth are destroyed but they can be rebuilt , not the same but still.

3 games have learning what the reapers are and what not. i feel they are not something that should continue,  too much risk.  but that is me      "theres that ruthless caculus"

What about the ex-Reapers' forces activists? Do you deny Shdghsa (I'm bad at making asari names, so this will do) the job of a stripper because she used to be a banshee? You partly-humans are all racist.

Sovereign vs. Harbinger

Sovereign: "We are beyond your comprehension. You exist because we allow it, and you will end because we demand it."

Harbinger: "Illium has given us 3 points. This hurts you."

Keeping the Reapers around is a huge gamble. We only find out that they're unwilling pawns of the Catalyst in the last 5 minutes and we have 0 information on what they'll be like when they're released from that control.

Besides, look at how much metal is on those Husks. They'd never get through airport security!

Some brainwashing may have been involved.
