How is it besides the point.  Either you're willing to make sacrifices or you're not.  If you never saw the Catalyst, used the crucible and killed all the Geth, would you have considered yourself a murderer or having committed genocide.  Or would you have looked at it as a sacrifice that served the greater good and saved many more races from being reaped?

The dynamics never changed for me.  Why?  Because I knew the consequences of inaction.  Death for everyone including the Geth anyway.

How so?  The OP claims that Mass Effect is about achieving your goals on your terms, I point out a canonical time when you could not achieve your goals on your terms (unless said result was your terms) and where sacrifice was required.
I then compare this to the OP allowing everyone to die because they don't want to kill EDI (And the geth too, fine), who will both die anyways.

Basically, reject is the action of a coward who is afraid of tough choices, and not at all in line with the Shep who left Ash or Kaidan to die.  After all, if you're so principled, should you not have tried to rescue them and got blown up too?

From my original post, Now there will always be casualties in war, but no one agreed to be sold
in order to win the war, furthermore committing genocide just for the fact to
ensure victory in the war because you’re afraid of extinction compromises the
agreement the galaxy agreed to, win this war together

Your comparing the death of one person and 1.5 billion geth, it doesn't make sense, and apperently you don't know the geth died.

The Geth only die if they're still alive.  And guess what, THEY DIE EITHER WAY!  Meanwhile, thanks to your "principles", the following also die:
All Quarians
All Turians
All Humans
All Salarians
All Asari
All remaining Batarians
All Drell
All Hanar
All Vorcha
All Krogan

Your Shepard is a coward who just sacrificed all of those listed so he can feel good about himself.

OP doesn't realize that ALL wars have casulties. Killing the Geth is unfortunate indeed, but sacrifice one to save the many is alright with me.

From my original post, Now there will always be casualties in war, but no one agreed to be sold
in order to win the war, furthermore committing genocide just for the fact to
ensure victory in the war because you’re afraid of extinction compromises the
agreement the galaxy agreed to, win this war together
