Why do People like Garrus so much?

Ok, this may be slightly controversial, but i never really...well, liked garrus. I didn't dislike him by any means, but i didn't find him as interesting as tali or miranda or jack or ashley.

I know some people think of him as their 'bro' but I always felt Wrex fitted that role better.

I also dont get why do many people romance him. I mean, I'm gay, but I dont really find him that attractive.

So, thoughts? What do you particularly like about Garrus?

Remember, I dont hate him, just neve found him interesting. Please don't lynch me :)

Well, why does anyone like anyone?

Some people you are drawn to and others you're not. I really like Garrus because he is a really nice guy, has a good sense of humour and a lovely voice. :)

Nah but as i just said, I always thought Wrex fitted that role better. Apart from him being a 'bro', Wrex had a more intteresting backstory, plus he acted as the window into his race. We already knew a lot about the Turians, in the same way that Liara didnt provide a window into the asari so much.

Wrex and tali were far more effective as being a 'window' into their race. That's why I dont get it.

And no I dont get manicures, although i  have a feeling that post was sarcastic, i dunno.

The troubble is, the reason I didn't find myself drawn to him is that he's 'just a nice guy'. Tali is a nice girl, but she has the more interesting chats. Ashley's a nice girl, but she had the problem of trying to move her family out of her grandfather's shadow. Wrex is a nice guy, but his chats are more badass and cooler.

I enjoyed how his Character Devloped, in ME1 he was Shepards Protege, In ME2 he was a famous Vigilante, and in ME3 he was recognized by his own government and given a command and brought on as a Reaper specialist

He was boring in ME1. ME2 and 3 he was much better, imo.

He has a great sense of humor. He always knows the right thing to say to Shepard to pick him up when he's down ("The Collectors already killed you once and all they did was ****** you off"). He trusts Shepard's judgment, always has his back...he's just a bro, dawg y'know?

Wrex is also a bro, but a less trustworthy bro. I would not trust Wrex to be my wingman in a bar.

I liked the way Shepard directly has an influence in his life during ME1. In ME2 he really is your bro, that is basically his character.

In ME1 Garrus goes from space-cop to rogue space-cop or super space-cop, depending on how Renegade or Paragon your Shepard is during the game. I thought this was a good way to make him both likeable (because you can direct his personality), but also give him an interesting overall story arc that really impacts his life.

Wrex also is your bro in ME2, but I don't feel like he changed so much throughout ME1. Yeah you get to talk him down on Virmire, and can get him his family armor back from pirates, which is cool. But his story is less about character development (which is what Shepard's is about - hence Garrus paralleling Shepard and being bros) and more about being a "new Krogan."
