The Bottomline is that Garrus followed the Path to Bro-hood there is no denying his Bro-hood.
What if you do the unthinkable... leave Garrus on the Citadel in ME1.
How dare you.

I was too busy... you know, trying to safe the frikkin' galaxy! Not enough time to speak to this low-time C-Sec grunt.
Please don't hurt me. I love you Garrus!

I felt reasonably positive about his character in ME1 but not really in ME2 or 3. I felt pretty forced into some sort of 'bromance' with him, whatever that means.
I find it odd that people complain about Liara but not Garrus, they are both equally "forced".

Because of the:
I find it quite funny that the guy who plays the man who writes the Bro Code is gay.
And this is a time when people click like on the samantha/femshep video and then post insulting comment about gay people
Do you actually think he writes it? and the character he portrays is straight.
Thats why i specifically said 'the guy who PLAYS THE MAN who wrote the Bro Code'
And since his picture is on the front i thought it was implied his character wrote it.

Garrus does have a good sense of humor... I mean, I could tell him he looks like crap, and he'd be cool with it. And I like the way he talks. It is so cool!
But, of course, I like everyone... They are all my bro/sis!

Regardless of the events on Horizon, Shepard IS a traitor. Cerberus is an avowed enemy of the Alliance. You remember Cerberus in ME1, right? Remember how they killed Alliance Admiral Kahoku? Remember how Cerberus lured Alliance Marines to thresher maw traps on Akuze and Edolus? Remember how Cerberus experimented on Corporal Toombs, an Alliance Marine on Akuze, by injecting him with thresher maw acid to observe the effects? Well Alliance Marine Lieutenant Kaidan Alenko remembers. Alliance Marine Gunnery Chief Ashley Williams remembers. And here's presumed-dead Shepard, alive with weird cybernetic scars, saying "trust me, old buddy old pal, I'm Commander Shepard, baby!" Not good enough. Not good enough by half.
Does Alliance Marine Lieutenant Kaiden Alenko remember when human colonies were disappearing and only Cerberus cared? Oh, right. That was happening right at that moment. And what Shepard says makes perfect sense: he's not with Cerberus, he's using them to fight the Collectors. Not to mention Garrus standing right next to you. What, did they kill him and make a clone, too? There is reason for Kaiden/Ashley to either trust Shepard or not at that moment. They chose not to while Garrus and Tali did. That doesn't make Kaiden/Ashley bad people; it makes Tali and Garrus better judges of character.

Okay, let me ask you: what qualities would you want in your best friend?
I'd want someone I can fully trust. Someone I could hit the bar with but also could hold a philosophical discussion with. Someone who'd pick me up when I was down and be able to make me laugh while he did it.
So, that's Garrus. He's all of these things.

I actually think that it's pretty much impossible. I mean, in real-life I would find it difficult to explain why a friend of mine is, well, a friend of mine. The same goes with Garrus being Shepard's bro.Flog61 wrote...

Tried this in one of my playthroughs. You get a lot of inconsistencies (sometimes he thinks he joined you in ME1, sometimes he doesn't). Same with Wrex, except that he doesn't appear at all in ME3 if you didn't recruit him and is only mentioned.
But on topic, a major point in Garrus' favor is that he does not judge you. He can see how desperate the situation is, and is thus the only character to whom Shepard can confess even the most horrendous acts (like betraying Wrex and shooting Mordin). Aside from that, he has a great sense of humor and he is good at what he's doing.
As a side note, I do not only like characters who don't question me. Jack is one of my favourites, too.

What? You think that Wrex isn't as much of a Shep's bro as Garrus? Your opinion, sir, is invalid.Logan Cloud wrote...
You think Wrex (the butthurt Krogan who never ceases to whine about the genophage) is the bro here. Your argument is invalid.

I'm too wussy to choose these options so I did not know this. He's now Super Bro.
