As someone who has never played as a Femshep, I like Jacob. He's a reliable guy, especially compared to the squaddies you originally get in ME2. Oh, and his face expression while he's talking always amuses me somehow. And I really enjoyed his loyalty mission.

Wow, he's on drugs? Now that sucks (even though I like him, it didn't stop me from putting a rocket in his face during the suicide mission. It can't be called a suicide mission if you don't have any casualties )

Wrex couldn't hold a philosophical discussion if it was lighter than a salarian anorexic. And no, I don't trust him fully.

Tali is my canon LI, so I agree that all that applies to Tali as well. She's female though, so instead of a bro in the middle of a terrific bromance with me, we're banging.

A lot of people find his personality likeable and his actions throughout the three games have proved that he's loyal to Shep and will always be there for her/him given the chance. I also really like Wrex (because I love funny characters who are also badass), but he's been too busy with Tuchanka and trying to save the krogan race to be able to keep Shep's back like Garrus. You also mentioned how Tali has a lot of the traits people like about Garrus. Well I'm not sure if you've noticed, but a lot of people like Tali too lol. And I would totally have a girls night out with her. So I'm not really sure... what you're getting at. Wrex, Tali, and Garrus are all popular. And Kasumi. Garrus is just the guy who's had Shep's back the most (if the player put him there to have their back I guess lol). I kind of get the feeling that you're trying to find out why you don't like him rather than understand why others do. Preferences.

On the romance part, people have preferences and he just happened to fit mine and not yours. /shrug I'm not really gonna try to list all the things I love about his character, but that's what it all boils down to really.

It's never actually shown he's on drugs. I just highly suspect it. I mean, if you romanced him as FemShep, he just nonchalantly stutters, "She wants to name the baby after you. Shepard. I'm going to talk her out of it. No offense."

Huh. Thought I was the only one who ensures I have at least one casualty each playthrough in the Suicide Mission. I had it picked randomly too.

My renegon Shep had Tali die. Really screwed up ME3 in terms of Quarian/Geth peace. Plus he gave Legion to Cerberus, so they were screwed.

Do they, though? They're willing to give Shepard a chance, that's the difference. Like I said, Tali is suspicious of everyone on the Cerberus ship except Shepard, and even then she scowls if he acts naive about the situation.

No, Kaiden/Ashley are not wrong for mistrusting Shepard at that point in time (of course, they ARE wrong but you know what I mean). But Tali/Garrus are right for going with him.

Nah, killing Samara is pretty easy, she's so boring. It's a pity that you cannot survive a sex scene with Morinth and she gets the short end of the stick in ME3, which makes choosing her instead of Samara pointless.

Nah but as i just said, I always thought Wrex fitted that role better. Apart from him being a 'bro', Wrex had a more intteresting backstory, plus he acted as the window into his race. We already knew a lot about the Turians, in the same way that Liara didnt provide a window into the asari so much.

Wrex and tali were far more effective as being a 'window' into their race. That's why I dont get it.

Liking Garrus has nothing to do with him being a window into his race.  That's your problem.

If ME was a T.V. show, choosing Morinth and then having to hide her identity on the Normandy would be more interesting than Samara, I think.

Non-romance Garrus has about 2 convos in me2

Samara has about 5

She is less boring in me2 at least

Well, to each their own I guess. I don't judge the character based on the amount of convos he has. And Samara was just too boring with her code and other bs.
