I just confirmed you septreves. Send me an email and I will link you up.

Golblini, sorry I have just seen this post. I have had no email for a month or two and there has been little traffic here.

Which conversation do you mean. I would like to get you back into the game :)

at the end of 3rd chapter? There is the celebration. When the guy comes out of the tent and starts to pick a fight I it cuts to nothing. When I talk to the mother the battle starts and she disappears and when I kill the combatants nothing happens. I can get the talk from Osmir, the kid and baxter, but cant leave the place and nothing happens.

Okay I think I know where this might be going wrong. Solace should join and the only way the conversation could break in this way is for her to fail to arrive?

Anyways, give me a hour of so then check here and I will link you a converastion which will end the module for you and start the next one.

Thanks for your patience.

Down load this conversatio and put it in your overrride or campaign folder.

this removes the condition from the exit stone and should get you going again.

Great! Thanks. I'll test that tomorrow when I have a bit more time.

Explains why the battle was a bit difficult :D Solance would have helped quite a bit.

On my 3rd play-through and I am asking for some spoilers:( Sorry that I forgot the names of the NPCs)

On the first fight after you exit the portal for the first time and Helem tells you to run I always end up having to fight the Wizard, who usually kills the entire party at first and I eventually get him after a reload or 2 or 7. Am I suppose to run or fight him.The first play through I killed the wizard and got nothing. The second time through I killed him( after only 1 reload!) and got a cloak of protection +5. Both times I still face him and the twins later on. I want to know what I should do story wise, fight or run.

Secondly I only played chapter 5 all the way through once and I wanted to know what I need to do to find the keys to that "illusion" sword located in the ruins under the slums. Also is there anything to do w/ the abandoned mages tower you find after freeing the Daughter of the rug maker ? I have others I can't remember now that I will probably ask you about later. Oh, by the way , thanks for a great Mod

Hello Sneakypetev,

You're welcome :)

You are supposed to run in that encounter. You do not face up to Mortimer Lestry till much later and will lose a lot at this level (as you found out :))

The mage tower is just a place to find, there is nothing to do there.

The illusionary sword was a subplot that got dropped in the final outing on the last module. There's nothing you can do in this campaign though I might go back to it later.

Hey, PJ.  I'm on my second start to the campaign.  I aborted a run with an archery ranger when I decided I needed a melee fighter, since Ember and Solace are both archery types.  I was most of the way through Caravan Club when I restarted with a fighter.  What's unusual this time around is that at the start of chapter 2, Ember is only 2nd level, when she was 4th when I finished chapter 1.  I also had a suit of leather +2 that I'd looted from someone in ch. 1 and it is missing (I still have Arthur's armor).

The only thing different (aside from my character) between the playthroughs is the first time through Sheep and Stone I didn't complete all the quests (I didn't go to Barnold's body and the Secret door quest didn't finish).

Also, is there supposed to be an interior to the building at Mielikki's temple?  I open the door and the game crashed when I tried to enter.

Hello Jezla, Those are odd things to happen? Are you playing the campaign version or the mods individually?

The campaign version of Ember can be leveled as a fighter and makes an acceptable tank, she only needs three or four rogue levels to complete the game. I would give her a few thousand exp if she seems to have lost some. It depends on your class what you do with Ember but don't base any decisions on Solace, she is not around too much after Caravan club until the second part of vault of the damned.

A fighter is a solid choice though as Ember shoots well if you dip a few levels of fighter. Later you will get access to a mage and later still another two fighters, though not at the same time. There is no Cleric to be had so keep the potions to hand :)

There is an interior to the temple and I don't know why it is crashing, it never has for me? There is nothing in there plot wise though so you can leave it.

This crash happened to me on Pools of Radiance Remastered. When I tried to enter the barracks to go to chapter two if I remember correctly. I suppose it's little space on the walkable area, because it has happened to me in the past on one of my areas, and making more space around the waypoint transfer seemed to work. But since no-one reported it, I don't know why it happened only to you.

I think that might be it. One of the characters is perhaps spawning outside the baked area?

It could happen. If they spawn too close maybe and push eachother out of the baked area. Many things might happen. To me it was when full party was entering the area and it was quite narrow in there. Then the party members where pushed I guess, or the formation couldn't fit.

PJ, I'm playing the campaign version.  I had a couple of crashes trying to enter the overseer's house as well.  It was odd, they both happened if I went there immediately after arriving in Lakeside at the sign post.  It probably is something like Andysks suggests.  I'll soldier on. :)

Thanks for the report, those are both 1 x 2 areas, so Andy could well be right.

Hope the ride is not too bumpy.

Okay, I've got a new problem.  It seems as if Isla's apprenticeship quest got broken.  I was asking Eliza about taking Isla on and the convo was interrupted by the npc moving inside the Inn.  Now I can't ask her about Isla, but I also can't talk to Beth or Isla about the quest either.  I'm not proficient with using the console commands to alter quest states, any instructions to work around or fix this?

I will sort this out for you. One of the risks associated with transitioning npc's is exactly this, they are supposed to not transisiton if they are in conversation but my scripting skill would never fix this. In most cases I got round it by updating the journal on the opening node and not the closing one so you had the update even if the conversation did not finish.

use this conversation:

Put it into the campaign folder and talk to her bodyguard Toby, he will update the quest.

PJ156, I playing throught ToLS once again and I can't figure out what is going on in LittleLake. I speak to everyone in town and get the idea that Marcus(?) Baxter did something wrong. I know the Baxter home was burned down and they moved. I see all the markers for the dead young people in the grave yard. SPOILER***************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

I go into the crypt and destroy both Baxter Skeletons and find a necklace, is there anymore to the story to be uncovered? I think this is my 5th playthrough and I really would  like to know.

You did a great job on this and I hope you continue to do more. But I hope you don't have anymore NPCs like Solace, she was unbearable,(IMHO), and I could not keep her in my group. The other joinable NPCs were great.

IIRC, and if you are at the point in the story where I think you are, you need to go aaall the way to the end of the area (after passing the village itself), where you should find a well, a cave, or some other type of hole you must enter in.

Thanks, but that is to wrap up the druid quest, I wanted to know if there were any further quests/ or clues about the Brewer family home being burned down in Littlelake. Also I made a mistake, I meant the Brewer Family, not Baxter, sorry got the names mixed up.

Hello,

**** SPOILERS ****

The brewers family story is sort of the corner stone of the whole story arc but you cannot do anything more now. It will be referred to in the second and third module then won't be picked up again in earnest till the last. In this module it is really about sowing a few story seeds and introducing the fact that the boy was buried outside the family tomb and they left soon after.

I am glad you don't like Solace, I wonder if you will come to like her before the end? After caravan club she dips into the game only once, then reappears in the second part of the last module. By which time you will have played her as an PC if you choose to and may have some more sympathy for her :)

Or may be not.

Thanks for responding, about Solace, I have kept her in the group on 2 of the times I played and know her story and sympathize w/ her, but it still no excuse for her to treat everyone like crap,(IMO). Eagerly looking forward to your future work !

Hey PJ,

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I am playing through this amazing module, and I've been stuck for many hours. I think something broke in my game, and some script didn't work properly.

When I went to fight Bethany and two others (don't remember their names, sorry), after I was done, I found Ormin staying on the road. However, I couldn't talk to him: clicking him simply made him face me, and that was it. I thought it was supposed to be this way, so I headed back to the town - turns out, I couldn't return to that zone any more. I found Ormin in the temple, and he had nothing to say regarding Bethany and others. I've been running around zones for hours, doing everything I could think of, up to using Ember's Detect ability everywhere - nothing is happening.

Unfortunately, I don't have any saves left from before leaving that zone...

Is there any way I could fix this, maybe use some script commands? I really wouldn't like to restart the module after playing for many hours. :(

That's a new one ...

No problem for posting here. There is a trigger on the road which causes Ormin to engage you in the conversation that ends the module. that is what has missed firing.

At the moment I cannot see why it is broken. I put the triggered conversation onto the blueprint just is case the trigger failed so speaking to the Ormin on the road should be okay.

Fixes:

1. You will have an autosave from the previous area so you can play out the fight with Taneth again. That may work but I am not sure it would for certain as I don't know what's broken.

2. You can read the below spoiler text (the conversation that you missed with Ormin in precy and start the next module from debugmode. The module name is "Last Days of the Raven" I know it's cumbersome but I was new to modding in those days.

Simon Landry picked the wrong side at the end and turned Ormin over to Taneth. Taneth tortured and killed Landry. The Caravan Taneth was seeking arrived at Neverwinter by a different rout so the ruse worked. Lord Tysan of Thunder bay is dying, Ormin is to travel there soon to be by his bedside if he can.

The end of that conversation can trigger the start of the romance, shout out if you want that to be the case (there are other chances later or you may have done so in the opening of the module where you spoke with Solace?)

3. Put this conversation into your campaign folder and speak with Beth (from the Isla quests) and she will jump you to the next module.

https://dl.dropboxus...00_npc_beth.DLG

You will need to take it out when you are done with this hop if you ever want to play again.

Please confirm you have managed to move on and post here or by PM if you have any more issues.
