I-war 2: Edge of Chaos. It had it all. Good voice acting, excellent controls, fun gameplay(you can't beat a bit of piracy), good length, awesome graphics (although some textures are looking rather poor these days) and the obligatory frustrating mission or two.

So many times have I wished for an anti-matter missile or gunstar in other games.

I have to say, most of my Baldur's Gate characters would wipe the floor with Aliyah (though part of the reason may be that they already advanced to Baldur's Gate II).

But you appear to be using a relatively pure BG1. Why not enhance the experience with BGT or Tutu and some of the great mods?

I still play the BG series as well, and I don't run modded BG1 either. Although I usually roll longer for better stats than what Aliyah has there. 10 intelligence and wisdom is unacceptable to me. :P

What else... I also play Planescape: Torment now and then all these years later. Ditto on Arcanum and Bloodlines...

I could go on, so I'll skip to my number one candidate: Neverwinter Nights. I've stuck with it since picking it up two or so months after its release. No other game I own offers the Persistent World or small party campaigning experiences this one does. Pay-to-play MMOs are rarely examples of steller role-playing even in so called role-playing servers. Plus the whole DM client thing puts NWN in a class by itself. As much as I love some of those older CRPGs, I don't usually play them between games. Instead, I schedule time for them the way I have with DA and will with upcoming titles. After I'm done with DA, it's NWN I'll go back to until the next major release. Then I'll finish that, and go back to NWN again. And so it shall be until a worthy successor is released. A pity NWN2 couldn't be that game.

Hmmm.

Star Control 2.
Wizard's Crown.
Icewind Dale.
Freedom Force.
VTM: Bloodlines.
Starcraft.
KotOR.
Knights of Legend.
Neuromancer.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

There are other games for systems I no longer have access to that I would probably still be playing (FF3/6, River City Ransom, Shadowrun) -
and I'm sure I'm forgetting games, too.

Oh my, where do I start?

I still play Megaman 2 from time to time, that might be the oldest game I still play.

I also play TIE Fighter and X-COM: UFO Defense, but I only tried TIE Fighter once or twice as a kid and X-COM I was only recently introduced to, and fell in love with.

Neverwinter Nights of course, in fact I never stopped playing that game for longer than two months ever since I bought it. Probably less even.

Its definatly one of the rare cases where a game's slogan is very true:

"unlimited adventures, one box."
