I am confused. Why would I buy new content?

Clearly this content is not then intended for you.buzzboy962 wrote...
I just completed the game and loved it, however, why would I buy more content now that my character is dead. Obviously I could go back to a save point and replay the ending so that I survive, but that goes against the whole idea of story and developing a character. Of course I could also make another one, but that wouldn’t be fun because I already know the story, so I am confused and wondering why I would want to buy more content when I no longer have a character.
Don't buy it.

DLC content that is played after the end takes place just after the landsmeet, before the final battle and all that. So your character isn't dead just yet. No need to replay the ending.
Although, as far as replaying the game, if you've only played through it once, then there's elements of the story you don't know. 6 origin stories, after all, as well as a few places where you can go one of two ways (elves vs WWs, anvil, Dwarf king). And, last but not least, new DLC.
Given the play length of DLC versus the cost though, well, more worth it if you play it more than once.

Anyway, new content will certainly enhance your future playthroughs, add more to the game, give you new stuff, and from what I've read, easter Eggs.

My only thing against the DLC thing, is they not releasing them fast enough.

My character reclaimed wardens keep after sacrificing himself. If you had the patience to sit through the credits you would know you can still do DLC

I am not criticizing the work BioWare did. I am praising the game, however, it seems to me that the concept of an epic story was not part of the design. So, I am sad. Not angry.

It is more along the lines of a novel as we are getting additional chapters that fit well within the book as it is.
I'm afraid I have to disagree with you on every point. I appreciate the DLC not only for the content and how that content fits into the storyline, but that I get the opportunity to play more with a PC and companions I've grown to like very much. I didn't want the game to end, and the DLC gives me more of that immersion into a fantastic world and keeps the game fresh.

Epic story not part of the design what?!>!.1
You fight giant dragons(several times) participate in great battles and adventures/events and shape the world around you. I mean all your missing is a single despotic ring and a volcano but that can just be fixed with new DLC

On a side note, do not be surprised if we do not see much content until the KOTOR MMO is up and running. The company moved the majority of their resources to completing that massive project. So, unless content is basically done, we will not see much happening for some time.

Damn you, I wanted to make the LOTR jab in there LOL. Jolly well done.
I guess it could be not classed as Epic, if you go about your daily life fighting dragons more than once.. I suppose.

I concur... I am getting more things to do with my SIX characters, wait, make that seven. Ser Barton was made and needs to get leveled.LynxAQ wrote...
This seems like a cleverly written "DLC's should be free" thread. I like the DLC idea and I am willing to pay £5 for an extra hour of entertainment.
My only thing against the DLC thing, is they not releasing them fast enough.

Name one truly epic storyline that did not span multiple books/movies/games. Go on, I'll wait.buzzboy962 wrote...
Obviously we have different concepts of epic.

It's because of fruitcakes like you that this entire DLC rippoff thing works. An hour of extra entertainment for 5 pounds dollars euros whatever?? Are you even reading what you just posted? An hour is not worth 5 of any western currency! If this game has 50 hours of gameplay that would mean you're willing to pay 250 pounds for this game!LynxAQ wrote...

DLC's are overpriced and a cheap way to milk more money out of an incomplete product by luring in fanboys.

Dragon Age $50 takes 80 hours to complete the game. That doesn't include replays.
A $5 DLC should then take 8 hours to complete, without replays.
But people still buy it despite knowing it only lasts 1 hour. You are buying something that is only 1/8th of what it should be.
