Would mid game DLC be okay if it just added content, or does it need to change the ending as well?

Title says it all.  I am not talking about changing EMS, I am talking about actually adding a completely new ending (possibly "conventional" victory)
here is a poll that I created on this topic

It won't change the ending and I'm okay with that. I now find the ending at least acceptable.

The current ending is an abortion so why would I bother with DLC if it doesn't change it?

It's just going to be riddled with even more choices that have no impact and ultimately won't matter.

It wouldn't have to change the endings, but in order to get those still miffed at War Assets and EMS to play, it would have to ADD to the ending, I think Bioware new that already, hense why we have these extra files in the EC.

It would only be logical, and a sound strategy if every piece of story related DLC added another variable to the ending.

More incentive to purchase, more incentive to play and a platform to further develop the story until it anneals into something more coherent and rich than what we currently have.

You can't have something big happen mid-game without it having any impact on the conclusion.

Of course, if Bio doesn't see it that way I won't be throwing any more tantrums.

I don't really care much about single player DLC anymore anyway. I'm just tired of the game altogether after everything we had through just to see the game made playable once more. And now it is... I just can't be bothered anymore.

If it's a substantial and entertaining experience in and of itself (like LotSB or Overlord) then I don't care if it changes the ending or not.

Ending is still a failure in many places. I support anything that fixes the ending or makes it better in any way at this point.

I can't see them changing or adding to the ending as it is, but I do believe our decisions will be importable to the next mass effect game, where we will hopefully see the fate of shepard, but won't be playing as shepard. He's dead or at best FUBAR.

I for one would be willing to pay $10 USD (800 Microsoft points) for a DLC that Both adds mid game content, and adds an ending or changes the ending to something that actually makes sense.  If it does not have both than I will not buy it.  I would prefer a conventional victory,  I mean come on...If 3100 EMS can defend the crucible, what is the point of the other ≈ 4900 EMS that I aquired throughout the game.

I can't really see a scenario where mid game dlc changes the ending. Mods on the forum have already said that the EC is the definitive version of the games conclusion so anything we get now is just going to add content. Leviathan dlc is most likely going to give us a clearer understanding of the reapers and their goals, along with some back story regarding their creators. Then there will be some dlc to help Aria take Omega back, and maybe one that has you fighting collectors again.

Personally i would love a new ending but the reality is that this isn't possible. They added in the rejection option and i imagine that is really going to be the extent to which we get a different conclusion.

Surely that wouldn't be fair on people without access to the internet. Must have internet to get the real ending....seems weak and unfair, but saying that I wouldn't put it past EA.

  • Should effect or add something to the ending
  • Should have some other outcome than the ending, like determine whether Aria is Omega or not
  • No buy

The next DLC I buy for Mass Effect 3 will be one which allows for a happy Refusal ending. Only after that purchase will I consider buying any other ME3 add-on. If this means Bioware does not receive my money for a Mass Effect 3 product ever again, well, that's just too bad for them.

I can't be bothered to put any money into this game what so ever. After the EC which was crap and the original ending which was crap, why bother anymore?

This, unless there's more to it or resolution in further games.

Endings did not make any sense whatsoever if taken literally.

I wonder which will be first, retake omega or leviathan. I hope it's leviathan, Id like to know more about the reapers and see more on the batarians before all the dlc plans are scrapped because of a lack in sales.

I can't bring myself to play the game again, even with the extxended DLC. Sure, it clarified stuff and made the poo more palatable but still left a bad taste in my mouth.

I'd only buy a DLC if it actually added to the ending. Any mid-game DLC is like rubbing salt in a wound.

Because it's the end of the series and the conclusion to all 3 games.  I still don't think it will happen though.

Erm really than what exactly is EC ? As if you dont like what you see in original game you need internet to get explanation for your clearly unability to understand artistic integrity. So well EA can do it. And really i dont see how mid game DLC will be successfull if it dosen't add at least to the endings as it is going to be totally pointless to even play through it.
