Would mid game DLC be okay if it just added content, or does it need to change the ending as well?

Got burned once too many times. Unless it gives me the option to shove Starbrat into a blender and hit frappe' by my own methods, no sale.

I'm with everyone that says future DLC should affect the ending in some way. I'm still very, very interested in what they have to offer but if we're going to go as far as to recruit a reaper as a squad mate, or learn about their past through one of their own, it's not difficult to believe that Leviathan could tell us about the Catalyst well before Priority: Earth. I'm willing to bet a lot that Leviathan will be all about the reapers' past. The Catalyst is an integral part of that and if Leviathan even farts out the word "Catalyst" that alone should affect the ending and it should give the characters pause as to what's about to happen.

As for retaking Omega, correct me if I'm wrong but Omega is under reaper control -- a lot of reapers. Or Collectors. Push them back and you've given hope to a lot of people. Maybe not an entire race but enough that "just a couple war assets" would be able to do a lot of defending.

I'm not a fan of the war asset mechanic. I think we were all led to believe while playing the game that the war assets would be for attacking and not just defending the Crucible, as is the real point of it. Any DLC will have to add war assets but I agree it's rather pointless since it's already possible to get the best ending. DLC will have to change the ending in some fashion or what's the point in adding war assets, how much defending can you do before most of the ships are floating there doing nothing?

I mean, then again, even with Perfect Destroy, the Catalyst says "your Crucible is mostly intact."

I have a feeling that whatever SP dlc is released will result in Shepard accumulating extremely rare and powerful assets - such as the titular Leviathan, if, indeed, that's the next piece of dlc - that will incrementally increase Shepard's chances of defeating the Reapers conventionally. The Refusal ending seems to me like it was added for this reason, and can be simply kept as it is for those who choose not to get any future dlc.

That's just my opinion, though, no need to go spreading it around.

Leviathan DLC shouldn't negate the current endings as POSSIBLE outcomes. What it should do is allow an entirely new BRANCH of possible endings. I wouldn't expect a single reaper to be of much use in a conventional battle, but it would provide invaluable intel and possibly a countermeasure for indoctrination.

Omega is under Cerberus control, not reaper.  Also, the Collectors are gone "We will find another way, Releasing Control"

I'd be happy if they added a conversation between harbinger and sheppard.  It would at least address the plot hole where harbinger just kinda takes a break after decimating hammer.

I do not think that midgame DLC needs to -change- the ending, but I do think it needs to -add- to it. It needs to add more conversations, more slides, more videos, each one showing us the results of our efforts in those DLC missions after the galaxy has been saved/lost.

For example, if we save Omega, we should see slides of what happens to it in the aftermath of the Reaper Wars.

No way I would buy DLC for the game as it stands. Lose the kid, maybe.
