These changes don't sound too bad. Curious to see how everything will pan out when I start playing in a few.

Next MP DLC should add a new enemy, or more diversity in the current enemies (Why isn't there a proper biotic with Cerberus? Corrupted Quarians for the Reapers? And I'm sure the Geth had some extra units in ME1 and 2 that aren't being used right now)

I'll bite. What are the new numbers on it, and is it worth using now?


It got about a 13% damage increase, and a weight reduction; 20% less weight at level 1, 5% less weight at level X.

Why buff a rifle that only a miniscule amount of players owns? I've NEVER seen a Collector Rifle in action in MP and I've been playing since release. There are enough weapons in this game that could've used some attention, but okay...

Eric, if you don't mind responding; is it possible to adjust burst fire quantity? Namely, for the Atlas or Nemesis? Or is that not possible through the weekly changes?

Also...Atlas is going to be even more of a colossal PITA to take down when one or two team members go down early in a wave. Le sigh.


Atlas will still be incredibly easy, just take longer.  None of these changes, sanse the Guardian health buff are well thought out Cerberus buffs.  Just a when in doubt, increase the health thing.  Difficulty is deeper than that.


Lol. That's what I mean. PITA because you have to duck in cover and slowly whittle it down over the course of several minutes, usually because someone and his failed savior both got instagibbed by a Phantom and now you don't have a team to FF on the multiple Atlases left in the wave.

It already has the armor and shields of a heavy frigate. That's not the part of the Atlas that needed to be changed. And I've proposed a lot of changes to Cerberus that could actually have an impact on their difficulty in BATT, but as Eric points out, there's a strict limit on what can be done through a live update.

Thanks for taking me deeper, though. :P

The Javelin in particular is a joke of a gun now, because it will always take the same number of shots to kill an enemy with a Javelin as it will with a Widow unless you take the duration path on TC which defeats the purpose of using a Javelin in the first place.

It's also too heavy to be practical on any class, including damage specced infiltrators now that the base duration of TC is 4 seconds.

The bonuses from TC were really what made most of the sniper rifles worth using, and now that TC was nerfed they're pretty underwhelming.

Then I'm going to wait now for players using the buffed version of that rifle now. I expect them to be flooding the lobbies soon now.

According to previous balance changes, they can change at least the following enemy stats:

Health/Shields/Armor/Barriers
Damage
Movement speed  - Confirmed as unchangeable
Unique modifiers, such as movement speed while cloaked
Evasion (dodge) rate, from both weapons and powers
Some sort of aiming delay
Stagger rate
Maximum/minimum number of different enemies at a time
Ideal combat range
Delay before shield regen
Maximum shield regen cap

Thats plenty in my book. I'm pretty sure there are a lot more things they can do as well.


don't forget that they can add new playable chars and weapons.

Because Sniper Rifles are actually quite poor; they were WAY too good on Infiltrators, but not nearly good enough on other classes. It was indicated that part of addressing this issue was to nerf Tactical Cloak, and it was then mentioned by Eric that a follow up sniper rifle buff was in the works; this would make sniper rifles less or equally good on Infiltrators, but better on other classes, who rarely can use them effectively.

So everyone says the Turret from cerberus is over powered. What do you do? Make it have even more health? Way to fail hardcore!

I laugh at the pointless "buff" of the collector rifle.

Giving more shields from Ops Survival packs means nothing when they don't even work .....

Yea what a pointless as all hell "balance" changes. Seems latley BioWare just goes enie meanie miney moe with these changes and have no ryme or reason to any of it.

:lol: No wonder why I stopped playing this bad game.

Not sure why you need to tack on the obvious sarcasm.

If they include a weapon as incentive for buying actual, physical products outside of the game, obviously Bioware doesn't want that weapon to be TRASH that nobody uses. It's in their best interest to make sure that the Collector Rifle is actually worth using, and not weaker than pretty much everything else.

So yeah, even if only a few people have it, it makes sense that they'd want to keep balancing it.

If people still don't use it, you can expect to see more buffs to it later. They'll probably keep buffing it until the people that have it, use it.

The sniper rifles were not overpowered on Infiltrators, aside from the Krysae.

This was what they can do to enemy factions; the big complaint being that with a slew of factors which can be influenced when balancing enemies, only health/shields was touched, and the opinion seems to be that it wasn't health/shields which was the issue. Or even damage per shot.

Not only Javelin...
Eric need to change shield gate mechanics on this multiplayer. More on gold to all one shot sniper rifles.

Assault rifles have been under powered sense the damn MP beta .... Snipers better not get an unnecisary buff before assault rifles do.

I was moreso interested in things like DPS and how that compares to other fully auto weapons such as the Revenant, Harrier and Hurricane.

They do currently not fulfill their niche to flush players from cover (as they move too slow on any map to get close enough to be a real threat) and provide an easy headshot medal at present.


Unfortunately we aren't able to change regular movement speed for enemies through live updates.

A few AR buff, or at least more urgent weapon tweak, would have be much appreciated...
Buffing Cerberus seems less significant at this point...
Well, at least, it done now, so you can move to something more important...

That's my point exactly, if you already buff it, why not make it a lot more viable in the first place? I don't think that the changes that were made now will increase the number of Collector Assault Rifle owners who actually use that gun. Which is sad for said players because, as you already pointed out, they paid money for it. So it should be at least as viable as some of the guns you can acquire by using game credits. I'm just not sure that the buff will sway players to use it.
