Feel free to send me 500 dolars youve just got lying around...oh and "around this time of year"...is the hardest if your a family.

If you didn't get a console in the first place, you'd have the cash for it, no? (Unless we're talking about a 200-300 dollar Wii, but DA:O isn't on the Wii, is it?)

Wrong.....you can get either a PS3 or a 360 for 300 and those are not money wasted on a gaming machine that won't play the game regardles. I have seen dozens upon dozens upon dozens of different game breaking issue reports for the PC without even looking at any thing but the No Spoiler main forum this thread is in and invariably there's no help from bioware at all ever.....because they can't account for your running software and hardware......my PC is over the recomended specs and it couldn't run the CC......took five hours to figure out what was wrong and I was on my own. I buy a game to paly and enjoy it not to waste countless days and hours to get it running for 3 extra piels and some crappy mods that won't be compattible with any of the weekly platches that the PC is in desperate need of.

Haha..this thead makes me giggle.

Two things from the PC version I wish were on the PS3 version:

Overhead camera angles, with circles ala BG and IWD.

Toolset/player mods.

Its still the most fun PS3 game I've yet played, however.

This^^

If a vote was taken, ld say 90% of the problems posted on the forums would be Pc related.

But hey, l will take just $200...since you seem to be a little out of touch in few areas.

As with most "OMG, PC bugs so PC < Console" statements, it's basically a roundabout way of saying you don't know how to use it, so it's supposedly inferior as a result. No one ever claims it's user friendly. In all matters, having access and control to a larger amount of variables is more difficult and requires additional skills (Manual vs automatic cars? Building your own radio as opposed to buying one? Building your own computer as opposed to buying a ****box computer from Dell?).

With all the bugs in the Pc version

Other than the memory leak for some versions, what bugs are you talking about?

in all honesty, pc problems (game doesnt install, broken, etc- NOT gameplay bugs) are a very small minority of all those who bought the game and are playing it. the thing is, they are much more likely to make an account on forums just to complain and ask for solutions, whereas the average gamer whos game is running fine doesnt join any forums at all.

so of course it looks like everyones having problems. thats the thing with the internet these days, the minority can yell as loud as they want and they look bigger than they are ;) if your comp isnt from the stone ages, you can probably run this game, perhaps needing to turn down the graphics some.

Main difference:

Consoles: nearly bug free and easily playable. Unlikely to ever in the history of ever run into a game breaking or even slightly annoying problem. The absolute perfect and flawless gaming experience.

PC: everything from farting while playing to your firewall and other running software along with hardware incompatibility and literally a quadrilljillion of other tiny and unpredictable variables can and likely will keep you from playing and enjoying the game. Do not expect it to be playable until patch number 5748647584758759024305840758 is released sometime in the year 9500.

Lol...you have no clue what you're talking about.

I'd love to show you the visual differences between most PC and console versions of games on my TV.  I've got some really good salsa that you could have with the words you'd have to eat...

Console version comes with a shortbus pass and complmentary head gear.
But you have to get the collectors edition for the buck teeth and drool rag.

With all the bugs in the Pc version, sure you havent got that backwards?

Am I imagining the fact that I haven't had a single game-breaking problem with a PC game in at least 6 years?  You guys are cracking me up.

Again, I don't even know how to respond to you because your statements are so far into the realm of fantasy.  I've literally spent next to no time at all working with PC gaming issues for many years...and I play a lot of games and own 3 gaming PCs.  Not to mention the fact that most people already own a PC, and a video card that stomps current-gen consoles can be had for around $50-$70.  Combine that with the fact that PC games are almost always $20-$30 cheaper than console games and your argument really doesn't have a leg to stand on.  Anti-PC gaming myths for the loss, indeed.

For the record, I own a 360, a Wii, and several other consoles as well.  My PCs are by far the cheapest and least problematic platform of the lot.

How Dark83 and Dex1701! You're such arrogant pricks! Why don't you just assume that all the world thinks like you and is as masterfully skilled at computers as you are! Darth_Trethon has got a point that I think both of you are completely missing. First, only a fool drops hundreds of dollars down just to play ONE game. Why would he by some computer that's already outdated and going to be considered worthless for future games in a year? He might as well save that money up for a better computer for his family. Also, since he does have a family, he most likely ALREADY had a consol system to play on. So instead of spending $350+ all on one go, he probably bought the system a while ago when he had the money to spend and then bought the game much later when it came out and he had some more money. Not everyone can just blow hundreds of dollars whenever they feel like it. Most people in the really world have little things like responsibilities and bills that they have to focus on as well.

As far as the tech issues for the computer, even I've heard of a ton and I haven't even been trying to to any out. Plus, I have a friend with the pc version who can confirm that they have run into may of those problems at some point or another. Frequent crashing seems to be the biggest issue. Like mentioned before, pc's run so much extra junk that you never know when wires get crossed, so to speak.

Now Dex1701, while it's good to know that you're a some uber-intellegent computer wiz that has had years and years to figure out the inner workings of computer and be able to solve all of your problems in the blink of an eye, for the rest of humanity, we have enough problems using the mouse and scratching our nuts at the same time, so please be pacient and graciously come down to our level and, instead of commenting on how pachetic someone is because they just don't get it, try SOLVING a problem for once. If that's not too far beneath you.

As far as graphics go, unless if you're a real stickler on wanting the best image possible, then you shouldn't even factor that into the conversation. I'm playing the xbox version on a tube television. My friend is high def computer. The difference? Not enough for me to care at all. But then again, I'm the type of guy of still appreciates 16bit Chronotrigger graphics, so I'm sure that plays a major effect into my caring.

To be fair about the gliching, I have had one (and only one) time where my xbox froze up trying to load between one area and the next. Thankfully, that's what autosaving is for. It does suck though that patches aren't available for the consols. You would think that it would be possible considering that you can download the game onto the consol's harddrive.

I have both 360 and pc versions, and on a high end pc too, but I prefer playing on 360 because...

1. Obviously - it's more cinematic on a big screen, the graphical detail on the armour and stuff is a lot poorer, but important stuff like particle effects still look great. The pc top-down tactical view thing i find pretty useless, and as I pause a lot I don't mind the radial menus at all.

2. Obscurely - for some reason a lot more sound effects carry over into the pause on the 360, making for great soundscapes when you're smoking your doobie in-between backstabs (with the music turned off ofc), probably not relevant to a lot of people, but my point is... it's all relative.

Ultimately the best things about the game are fully intact on the console version, and it's a lot cheaper to organize a 360 than it is to set-up a decent pc.
