I personally liked it alot. The plot was OK,unlike other movies based on game lore it was consistent with the story and lore!I mean the plot wasn't anything special(Most of movies have the similiar plot as this one) but it was so great to hear and see the movie in DA lore, unlike tekken the movie it has nothing to do with the series,DA Dawn of the seeker had mages, templars, seekers, divenes, chantry, blood mages, clerics and all of them were like they should be by the lore, not like in some movies based on video games where mages were totally different, and had different morals than in the game, here it was like in the DA games. This was a big plus.

The movie was great with introducing new people into the lore,it perfectly explanied everything people need to know about DA lore.

I loved the idea about all of the seekers being noble and honest, stayed true to the chantry and were fair to mages

The charethers:

Protagonists:Well Cassandra, and the mage guy, what was his name,Galio,Galen,oh it was galian were great protagonist,oh i forgot Byron, they were great protagonist,I loved Cassandras hot tempered vegefull personallity, she was hilarus(she was like a funny, kind version of Maiew Shadowsong from Warcraft),she stayed true to the chantry and fiding out the truth no matter what,a great charether.Byron was noble and a example of a true seeker. And Galian was a funny mage, with a  noble goal,a true example of a good mage.I have no problem with them, they are funny and i agreed with their cause and morals

Anagonists:Oh god no,they were very poorly made, the game had 3 anagonist 2/3 were terrible while 1 was mediocre,The evil templars who are power hungry and do bad things to all mages, they were just bad people with no motive or side story or something that made them do bad things, they were put in the movie with no explanied reasons or motives(like they were in DAO and DA2 like Cullen,Meredith they were made very good). They were just evil with no exception or reason, like a cartoon for 3 years old.they made anagonists who are just evil with no reason or side story, they are just evil, like the witch from cinderella,oh wait, she at least had a reason to be evil.So the templars were evil with their evil without backstory nameless Knight Commander as their leader.Same story with the evil main anagonist blood mage with no backstory(well at least he once mentioned his goal was giving mages power). He was just classic evil charether like from a fairy tale for 3 year olds.I use magic i am evil hahahah,i have no side story i am just evil hahahahaahaha, and we had the Cleric, she had a motive(no side story),she had a personality, not just I am evil hahaha,i have no backstory hahahah.I liked that, but she was meh, just an ordinary villan,at least she had a motiv, valid personality and a goal.

Side charethers:It had too many charethers but still we have a girl who is supposedly the key in this story, but she didn't say a word in the entire movie, but OK at least she was happy and jumping with Cassandra and Galian and then she just dissapeared when they got to the divine. We also had the circle, seekers but they were no individuals, just  groups that fights. We had a crazy elf and that's about it lol,to little charethers.

Enviroment:OMG Orlais was made so beutifull,The chearethers, blood, dragons were all great to see but the enviroment, the forests and the Val Royeaux were facinating.

Plot:The plot was average, but funny charethers, funny momements, epic protagonist and epic moments and epic battles made it fun and great and I absolutly enoyed it altrough the plot, development of the story, and the anagonist were awfull, the story was meh and I didn't learn anything about the lore.It was just a mediocre story made as a playgroud for epic moments, funny moments, epic battles, and Cassandras learining how to behavae, and getting over her brother's death.

Conclusion
I rly enjoyed it no matter the awfull anagonists and boring and predictable story, other than that the movie was amazing, the combat, the art,the enviroment, the protagonists, the fact that i love DA lore and it was here (i mean omg i saw Val Royeauxthe) and the humor were amazing, fun and definitly worth my time.

8/10

Protagonists +4
Anagonists -2
Plot-2
Enviroment and lore +3
Humor +2
Combat +3

:wizard:Post your opinion, and if you didn't watch it and read this no matter the big SPOILER i reccomend you wathcing it!

Sry 4 my terrible english

Decent review, though I disagree that Knight-Commander Martel (the head templar) was just generically evil. It was kinda subtle, but he was actually out to kill the Divine so that his lover (the Grand Cleric of Orlais) could be promoted to her place. Oh sure, he said that he was out to reform the Chantry, but that was probably a secondary goal.

As villainous motives go, love isn't a bad one.

Dawn of the Seeker was decent. Not exceptional, but better than most video game tie-ins.

Yes, that right hand girl is the Grand Cleric of Orlais and he was trying to put her in the Divine's seat.

I'm not sure if Martel is ever named in the movie. I just read on the wiki that his name is Martel.

So I have a question regarding the time line in regards to where this falls in the Dragon Age Cannon. Clearly after the blight, however does this happen after the events in Kirkwall or during? The Knight Commander references what has happened in Kirkwall (mage/templar) rebellion, however Cassandra is given the book Varric wrote at the end of the movie and appears to send her to Kirkwall.
So when does this exactly happen?

It's a little confusing, but the Knight-Commander is actually referring to how the old Viscount of Kirkwall, Perrin Threnhold, tried to kick the templars out of the city in 9:21 Dragon. He failed and was overthrown by Meredith.

Now, this is a bit tricky, but there's a bit of a time skip between Cassandra saving the Divine and the ending of Dawn of the Seeker. I'm not sure exactly how long it is, but during that time, the mage-templar conflict in Kirkwall happened.

Yeah, that was her getting the book at the end, so with that in mind, the mage/templer conflict had had obviously concluded.

Was pretty disappointed that the Cassandra we knew and the Cassandra we were given in the movie looked like two completely different characters. A wee bit continuity would have been nice, even if it did involve 2 different art styles.
