3 : I know this is an old debate, but : I know you have two teams, one for the bug and one for the bans. So when people ask "please correct bugs instead of loosing time banning people", you answer "those are two different teams so there is no lost of time".  But I don't understand why you don't spend the money for the "bug" team only. The faster the bugs are gone, the lesser cheater there is and you don't pay a team only to compulse logs and complain (not to say "denouncement"...)
AND, if you allow hosts to ban people from their lobbies, and to kick from IG, you don't need ban as the cheaters will finaly play only with themselves and problem solve.

Point 3 is very important to me : it is about effectiveness more than ideals or anythings. I think we all should be proactives on this, developers and honests players.

But of course, it is my humble opinion only.

Addressing only this one point: it bears pointing out that, in the past, any game, any service in which cheaters were not dealt with was -inevitably- overrun by cheaters. History has proved this over many games over many years.

You're defending cheaters. And that competition was idiotic.

Well, for what it's worth, Cheaters don't make money, EA do. I don't pay cheaters, I pay EA.
As it has been said I pay EA for a service and I don't pay cheaters for anything.

So I have more right to complain about EA than cheaters if I go your way. Or not.

Sterile conversation it is, young padawan.

A "right" to complain about one does not mean that the other is any more right.

What you're saying has absolutely nothing to do with what I said.

Yeap.

And who is the most well placed to deal with cheaters if not players themselves ? They are first line, and with the tools they can DO something instead of complaining and using a suspicious system encouraging denouncement.

The most effective way is not waiting a ban wave, it is to ban from our own contacts so cheaters get isolated.

We all remember the old video of CS lan where a guy is cought cheating. His compluter (RIP) remember too...

The best guardian and actor is the player. Only through him the problem can be solve I think.

What you said made no sense, and by "you" I mean "those taking part of a flame war about who is the bad man, the cheater or EA. It will never end and for it's worth does not make the debate more efficient IMHO.

I don't see why giving players the power to ban cheaters from our lobbies should keep Bioware from continuing to ban them straight-out from the game. One doesn't necessarily mean that the other isn't still necessary.

Cheaters would just do private matches then.

Some people seem to think private matches suddenly makes cheating okay.

It does not.

For the last time this is not PVP! Its CO-OP if a guy had better guns that means you win more!

It's not about winning all the time.

I don't play Mario and use the "skip the level" option, so I don't want somebody else choosing to skip the level for me in ME3. I bought the game, I want to actually.. GASP.. Play the game that I bought. I'd like to be able to play with randoms, like I should be able to, without worrying about cheaters. I don't like cheaters. I'm going to report them.

If you're going to cheat, why even play the game at all? Why not go outside and just TELL people you played the game? You're basically doing the same thing.

And again its not cheating its glitching
Glitching is fun a few times with friends laughing how everything is being destroyed by a simple lag glitch that replaces your guns ammo with rockets.

Cheating is pointless and more boring than FBWGG there is a difference

Abusing a bug/glitch for benefit has ALWAYS been cheating, in every online multiplayer game, for as long as I can remember back in like 1999. This isn't new. It isn't something Bioware/EA suddenly made up. It's right there in the Terms of Service that we all agreed to: It is cheating, period.

Wait - on a thread created and read and responded to by Thomas Abram.... you essentially say "shouldn't bioware fire you and the team you are a part of, and pay those other guys you pretend to like, but secretly hate because they're over there fiddling with code like some kinda coding rockstars, to make your job pointless and obsolete -- in theory"
gutsy move Charaxan -- gutsy move.

Then again, i do agree that if they were mutually exclusive they should focus more on fixing them. But i guess they're not... so lets make me3mp honest.
thanks BW for all your continued support on an overall satisfying product

Oh really?

THIS is confusing for you?

11. Rules of Conduct
You may violate the Terms of Service if, as determined by EA in its sole discretion, you:
- Abuse or exploit bugs, undocumented features, design errors or problems in the game.

I understood that perfectly well. I guess I'm some kind of lawyer, because I can read all this "letter jumble".

Personal problem.

The average gamer would know what that means. If they don't read it ( or in your case, if they refuse to acknowledge it because they think it's "too confusing" ), that's not anybody's fault but their own.

Sucks for you, it's a legal agreement that you didn't read and you signed off on it.

Sorry, but that's covered too, kiddo.

"By using EA Services, you affirm that you are at least 18 years of age (or have reached the age of majority if that is not 18 years of age where you live) or that you have reviewed this Agreement with your parent or guardian and he or she assents to these Terms of Service on your behalf and takes full responsibility for your compliance with them."

And how exactly do you disagree? Because you paid for the game before you agreed and can not return it.
