Sugar or syrup or something else on your pancakes?

Fruit on my pancakes, Aunt Jemima on my waffles. Free plug in exchange for a life time supply of syrup? Maybe...

I don't want to derail, but Aunt Jemima instead of real maple syrup? COME ON MAN.

To help get rid of cheaters I suggest incentivising reporting with commendation packs.

I have played maybe 2 games so far with people using the rocket glitch and it really sucked the fun out of the match. Not to mention how all the cheaters end up getting everythign unlocked and really high N7 levels and then they end up sucking in a normal match when you team with them if they don't cheat.

Are the multiplayer bans permanent? Another punishment for cheaters rather than banning should be something like a few month period where they receive no upgrades and their credits are distibuted to the other players they team with.

Do y'all work with Xbox Live/PS3 to identify cheaters? I imagine that the "File complaint" Xbox has would be helpful in identifying offenders. I assume PS3/Origin has a similar function and that y'all have access to the Origin info already.

Basically, is it enough to report via the platform's complaint service? I have been both e-mailing and filing complaints for each occurrence.

Terrible idea. I can see the mass of paranoia now if this were ever implemented.

Hi Thomas,

First, let me say I think your attention and dedication in this thread is just hands down awesome. Never played a game where the Devs and QA were so involved. Seriously, huge kudos to you guys for that.

Anyway, I'm one that has had a pretty hard stance in relation to this missile glitch. I think it's far worse than the credit glitch even though some try and make them comparable. But the credit glitch, which by all means was cheating, was at least done cooperatively. Meaning, for the most part, that the whole lobby had to be on board. But the missile glitch is just purely selfish. Running around rampant destroying everything with missiles while your teammates have no choice but to suffer. THAT is why I'm so against this. I couldn't imagine, even without a threat of potential banning, going into a game and performing something that proceeded to completely ruin the game for the other 3 playing. How selfish and arrogant do you have to be to do that?

So to me that is the distinction. The complete disregard for other peoples playing experience. That is why I hope you guys do come down hard on them.

Having that said, I've sent a bunch of reports in. Sometimes I can just so easily tell that the individual has likely abused the glitch repeatedly. So the question I have, just for peace of mind, is can you really easily, just from one report from one game, do a quick query and find how many games and instances of the abuse there had been? I guess what I'm getting at is even though I only saw them one game, even if other players in other games didn't report them you could easily look at the logs and see the history of abuse?

Yes. The point of reporting is so they get examined, and I am sure they have a database they can examine that tracks who played what games with who, and how. Just have to scroll back though logs that contain player X.
If they didn't have that, it would be so cumbersome to ban anyone, and it sounds like they have it down pretty well.
If they're really old school, they can pop open a search window and search through text files for said player's name, and sort by date. But I think they're a bit higher tech than that

I've only seen the one missile exploiter, which I reported.

But his presence didn't detract from my own personal performance, and didn't cause me to suffer in any way. I didn't even notice until several waves in that he kept using missiles because I wasn't close to his character for much of the match.

In fact, when I saw he wasn't taking advantrage of BEs I was setting up for him, I went off to do my own thing. I thought he was actually being a bit of a p*ssy for using a missile so early on when we could have easily killed the target with biotics and bullets.

It wasn't until about halfway through that I even noticed the kill-feed displaying a suspicious amount of missile kills by the guy. That was when I started paying attention to the kill-feed. I don't think anyone else in the room noticed until I finally called him out on it.

But I still didn't feel I was suffering for it, because I had plenty of my own guys to kill. Nor did I feel it was of any particular benefit to me, because, FFS, we were just playing Silver. Her wasn't taking out threats I couldn't already handle.

After he admitted to it when the match was over, I left because playing with any cheater is not fun for me. But it didn't ruin the experience of playing the game for me.

It's a little bit more complicated then that and the short answer is, yes. The long answer is, if I'm aloud to pull a Priestly I do not know, Image IPB

Also, i'm out for the night so I'm signing off and locking this up.

If it is possible now or in the future, would modding out the Hunter Mode visual obstruction be considered cheating?

How is it that in this post, you say modding SP things will get us banned, but in another (not sure if it was you), it is said we are allowed to mod coalesced for keybindings?

The first post kind of makes it sound like Origin doesn't distinguish between edits to one part of coalesced and another. Is that true?

I love playing the game, despite the occasional annoyance with bugs like kro- kro- kro- krogan stunlock. :o)
This is also the first multiplayer game I've ever owned or played.

I'm curious about the support window for games like this, especially to give me hope that bugs will continue to be patched and content will continue to be added. So, how long do you guys plan on keeping MP going? Through the end of the year. Till 2014?

==========

Also, I've been playing a lot of drellguard lately on Gold. I love it and do well with him, but sometimes when I charge he just dies. No shield gate, no bloodscreen, no barrier recharge. Just charge: dead. Other users (holdenagincourt) I know have also experienced the same thing. Is this a bug? (I always host btw and he's not dying at the beginning of the charge like with the laggy die and fly glitch).

Thanks!

To answer your first question, I do not know. Unfortunately that's all I've got you :s

As far as this drellguard bug (that happens with some others characters as well), we are aware of it and are currently investigating it :)

You linked a post with me clarifying the statement that was taken out of context. As far as Origin's capabilities Image IPB

Good (and reassuring) to know.  He's already so paper thin.  And yes I call him "Paper Cut."

I've also noted it with the Phoenix Vanguard.

What is your "QA Remote Logger" that you have built into the game. I have seen it set to enable in Coalesced - I would like to know why you are gathering screenshots and gamesaves. I would assume that debug logs and game statistics would be more useful to QA.

This is a bit out of the scope of the thread, but it's simply one of the tools we use for internal testing and gathering development telemetry, not something that affects retail builds.  Screenshots and gamesaves are useful for bug filing, and this gives us an interface to gather those files on demand, along with some other information we need (for example, information about how much coverage of conversations we have hit so far during tests).

Thanks for the clarification

Thank you for responding to my email, Mr. Abram. Has anyone else experienced a player seeming to stand in the same place all game, only accumulating score and not getting killed? I couldn't be sure if this was cheating or some kind of connection glitch. Reported it just in case.

well not phrased as well as I had hoped it should suffice. hope you understand. :)
Just to break the "ice"
do you play ME3 ever if so what is character you enjoy using. not difficulty dependant for answer.
Mine = Batarian soldier or Krogan soldier

Now to the actual questions....
A) Is "kill stealing" a tier 3, griefing?
A1) if so. I have to disagree on that. They have the same amount of "claim"/ "right" to that kill as anyone in that game/lobby.

V) Yahg or Volus or "Prothy" for next character that get's into multi, that you personally would like to see,
my answer= Yahg preference with shadow broker shield as a power.(that big red thing he held)

2) how much info do you give to those banned. like what they are being baned for.

regardless of your answer I feel that for tier 3, it should be as much info as possible, and date time, and what it was that got them what ever "punishment" you decide. for thier "infraction"

for the other 2 tiers.... especially for exploiting
I feel telling them what exacly they did, example=like if rocket glitch/that money glitch doing round 10 over and over.

9) modifing ini file what punishment is there?
is it straight ban, or do you request that they fix their files? or ?

I want to add my voice to the displeasure with the infinite missile glitch. It seems to be spreading at a rapid rate lately.

I hadn't ran into anyone doing it before last week, but yesterday alone I ran into three players using the glitch, and joined two sessions in progress that others had probably left due to the cheater, and used up my resources I had applied for joining a game only to have to quit immediately. And I just left 5 or more lobbies that had players with weapons that I've seen used to employ the cheat. I spent almost as much time looking for a public game yesterday that didn't have a cheater as I did playing.

I'll keep reporting the players, but it's making public games a real nuisance and the public experience a big turnoff for the multiplayer.

I play a great deal of silver, and limited gold. I have yet to see this missile glitch.

Should I count myself lucky?
