The Voth appears to be evolved from Hadrosaurs and escaped Earth before the mass extinction of Dinosaurs. While their story does not involve Reapers, and our suggestions for the squadmates are clearly sexier than the Voth appearence, there's a very strong and unavoidable resemblance with our suggested "Dinosaurians" (they are, for example, more technologically advanced than humans).
Here's some reference material, I can assure you that as a Dino-buddy I found all of this very interesting:
Star Trek Voyager Wikia: Voth page
Star Trek Voyager Wikia: 3x23 "Distant Origin" episode page
Enjoy!

Sajuro, that picture was already poste twice... I'm all right for new Dino-buddies joining us, but check out at least the previous 4/5 pages. We covered a lot of crazy Dino-related materials, theres' a chance that whatever you are trying to post has already been posted!

I know it's not technically about Dinosaurs... But there's a tiny picture of one! That's
justification enough right?

Yeah I guess Turians aren't subtle but Dinosaurs always help ease the pain of any bad situation.

What about the creatures the Krogan ride on when they went to war? do they count as dinosaurs?
Kakliosaurs are, in fact, Tuchanka's Dinosaurs. But what we're asking here is the return of th Earth Dinosaurs, their extinction being connected with the Reapers' harvesting cycles. Check the compendium from a pair of pages ago to understand what we're asking here!

Yes, for a few cycles. Then when they develop a society, the Reapers would've come in and wiped all trace of them from Earth.artificial-ignorance wrote...
ummm this is dumb. the dinosaurs would be one of the races that the reapers left alone as they were not space-faring. they would be like the yahg.

I'll say it again, the fact that Dinosaurs were not capable of Space-Flight is what the Reapers wanted us to believe. The Dinosaurians were an advanced race of humanoid dinosaurs who managed to use savage Dinosaurs as powerful allies. That's why the Reapers started to fear them.

You have absolutely NO IDEA how many years I've been trying to remember that movie title. You ended right here a research that lasted for almost my entire life.

Important update: I think it's relevant that we Dino-buddies acknowledge the fact that Star Trek Voyager already went were we want the Mass Effect series to go. It happened in the Season 3 episode "Distant Origin" (3x23), were a race of advanced Saurians called "Voth" make an appearence.

Alright, that does it: Nobody can say Dinosaurians are impossible now that somebody else has done it.

Not just somebody. Star Trek went there. And while Voyager isn't exactly the apex of the Star Trek franchise, the Voth are still canon in that Universe. Even Q once named them as one of the possible race that could fight the Borg during Star Trek The Next Generation.
That's it, Mass Effect does need Dinosaurians. Now it's more than official.
And this require a victory dance...
