Daveth was a creep....wouldnt want him along.

Leski from the Dwarf Commoner origin would also be great, he seemed like a nice guy not happy with having to do the things he does to get by

Pfft. He stole my haircut.<_<

Cammen! We need a party member who gets bullied and is the gullable young coming of age guy who is the but of everybodies jokes.

Also my mage likes them young... hmmm

Thank goodness this isn't a J-RPG cause then Cammen would be the best character.

Cauthrien for sure.
We need more ladies with 2 hander specializations :D

And I find it odd in her fmv during the retreat from ostagar sequence why she wields both a 2 hander AND a shield?
Is she THAT badass?

Ser Cauthrien doesn't wield greatsword and shield -- she just threatens shields with the Sommerswerd and the shields leap up to defend her.

Kitty and Caradain.

A desire demon would be an interesting companion, and Caradain would be a lot more useful fighting darkspawn than bathing in Lava. Besides, he sounds like a nice guy. He and Shale should go make baby Golems. ^_^

Oooohhh, and NPC/NPC romance mod in the making...yeow!

Most definitely Ser Cauthrien for several reasons. Firstly, if we look at our companions, we have a severe lack of ladies. Just three and two unless you decide to make them arcane warriors are "soft targets". Though, its more because I thought her character is probably one of the more interesting and tragic of the NPCs in the game. She is loyal to the point of death, litterally, but if given the chance she could have been turned, however because of Princess Anora's meddling that chance would have been cut short.  I have always lamented that we could not get her right after Ostagar, perhaps at Lothering commanding the search for warden survivors. That would be the most logical and would work well into the story to get her into your party early enough to get to know more about her, and turn her to your side.
Make no mistake though, Ser Cauthrien should be the "honorable" party member, and will turn against the party should our hero be the murderous scumbag sort and prove that Loghain was right about the wardens.

Also, she's a tank, and a damned good one, as anyone who fought her knows, and the companions mix is sorely lacking a female in that role. I would however use the re-spec utility and make her into a dual-weilder, with aptly, Top Sider's Honor and Oath Keeper in her hands. It would be interesting also to have her as a romanceable and I can see her swing both ways in terms of sexual preference.

Cauthrien would probably prefer older men.

*wink wink*
Loghain would've been far more worth taking with you if it meant being able to recruit Cauthrien along for the ride.:wub:

Ive always wanted there to be romances between companions. Why should the Pc get all the action?

Yes I agree. It would be nice to see some of the companions develop feelings for each other that you can interact with, it would be cute.

Like Shale having a secret crush on Sten, that was amusing and cute to hell, too bad it never went beyond banter.

Isabella ftw.  Such an interesting character.

Gheyna, not as an active party member but as a token elven **** to use/abuse at camp.

Bella, not as an active party member but as a token redhead wench to use/abuse at camp.

Yep, my mind is in the gutter tonight. ;-)

Sadly, the ones I really like are more warriors, when we need more rogues/mages.

Teagan: Yes, more Teagan love. I adored the banter with him, some of my fave dialogue in the game, and want MOAR! I also liked his sense of honor and committment to his brother, and his decisiveness.

Cullen: Pre-Tower freakout. Sadly, he's probably permanently traumatized by the events at the Tower, but in the mage origins he was adorable. Very much liked him.

I'm skipping all my real favorites, as I only want them to romance them...

But the Spirit of Valor!! come on, he can fashion weapons with his will and he's see-through, though he didn't warn me about Mouse, so that's a strike against him.... :s

I want Uldred. We need manly mages.

The Templar chief in Lothering was cool.

How about brother Genetivi? He could write scrolls about my advaentures, which I can use as propaganda for my Kingly career.

A Werewolf. Siding with the Werewolves should have given us a werewolf companion, likle Swiftrunner.

And definately Ser Otto, the almost blind, burned face Templar, who pimp slaps a book and gets the coolest death animation.

I agree. Getting Cauthrien after Ostager would have made the story much more interesting. She could put doubt in your mind about whether Loghain is a villain. And what the truth is.

Alistair would tell you how evil Loghain is and we should trust Eamon to lead the Kingdom. And Cauthrien would assure you that Loghain has brilliant plans to deal with the Blight and Eamon is a troublemaker married to an Orlesian.

Cauthrien for sure.

Ser Gilmore, oh how delicious

Jowran could be molded into a fine mage. I want a male mage. I mean, my PC wants a male mage

Daveth. Definitely. What a shame he had to die, he was great.

One of the women elves. Either the Dalish keeper apprentice, or the City Elf who's next in line for leader.

The elven chick called Shaevra in the pearl that attacks you because you're a Grey Warden. Or the Duelist Isabella that can teach you how to be a duelist. This game seriously lacks "tough" women in your party. Leliana is girly and Morrigan is just insane, Wynne is the mother type.

Cauthrien would be a good option as well, but I'm guessing she'd be a tad bit boring to bring along.

Isabella

Cauthrien

Jowan

and of course, the inestimable Teagan. Though i admit i wouldn't take him to fight...only to stand around in the camp for when i need either eye candy or a well-turned compliment or a roll in the tent. *swoon*
