Daveth was a creep....wouldnt want him along.
Leski from the Dwarf Commoner origin would also be great, he seemed like a nice guy not happy with having to do the things he does to get by
Pfft. He stole my haircut.<_<

Thank goodness this isn't a J-RPG cause then Cammen would be the best character.LynxAQ wrote...
Cammen! We need a party member who gets bullied and is the gullable young coming of age guy who is the but of everybodies jokes.
Also my mage likes them young... hmmm

Cauthrien for sure.
We need more ladies with 2 hander specializations
And I find it odd in her fmv during the retreat from ostagar sequence why she wields both a 2 hander AND a shield?
Is she THAT badass?

Kitty and Caradain.
A desire demon would be an interesting companion, and Caradain would be a lot more useful fighting darkspawn than bathing in Lava. Besides, he sounds like a nice guy. He and Shale should go make baby Golems.

Most definitely Ser Cauthrien for several reasons. Firstly, if we look at our companions, we have a severe lack of ladies. Just three and two unless you decide to make them arcane warriors are "soft targets". Though, its more because I thought her character is probably one of the more interesting and tragic of the NPCs in the game. She is loyal to the point of death, litterally, but if given the chance she could have been turned, however because of Princess Anora's meddling that chance would have been cut short. I have always lamented that we could not get her right after Ostagar, perhaps at Lothering commanding the search for warden survivors. That would be the most logical and would work well into the story to get her into your party early enough to get to know more about her, and turn her to your side.
Make no mistake though, Ser Cauthrien should be the "honorable" party member, and will turn against the party should our hero be the murderous scumbag sort and prove that Loghain was right about the wardens.
Also, she's a tank, and a damned good one, as anyone who fought her knows, and the companions mix is sorely lacking a female in that role. I would however use the re-spec utility and make her into a dual-weilder, with aptly, Top Sider's Honor and Oath Keeper in her hands. It would be interesting also to have her as a romanceable and I can see her swing both ways in terms of sexual preference.

Cauthrien would probably prefer older men.
*wink wink*
Loghain would've been far more worth taking with you if it meant being able to recruit Cauthrien along for the ride.

Yes I agree. It would be nice to see some of the companions develop feelings for each other that you can interact with, it would be cute.
Like Shale having a secret crush on Sten, that was amusing and cute to hell, too bad it never went beyond banter.
