Ignacio. That guy would wipe the floor with Ser Cauthrien. Probably the hardest PC race enemy to kill when you discount his support, and he has no good equipment to speak of.
Gaxxkang. Who wouldn't want an unbound revenant tagging along. Joking aside, an abomination or undead companion would be fun. It might be interesting to hear the dialogue between it and Wynne.

Leske. Just straight up awesome. You should be able to turn him in the fight (for god's sake he saw you won a proving and knows how bad ass you are. Self preservation alone indicates he should switch. Though I was touched by meeting him at the Temple. Only wish I could have hugged him.)
Jowan. I don't much like him, but he's a good candidate for a redemption story. Really, should conscript him, make him a warden, and give an option for him to take the final blow, redeeming himself.
Gorim, of course, if you're a dwarf noble. Just pure awesome, and he should leap to rejoin you in any case.
Mum! (As a human noble. How awesome and awkward would it be to have your mum along on an adventure like this.)
Shianni. I always plug my ears when people tell me she's my cousin. "Nananana. Can't hear you! She is NOT my cousin!"
Daveth: agreed on him. The rogueish guy who's willing to do what it takes to win. I felt really bad for him when he died. If you read the Calling, Daveth reminds me a bit of a young Duncan, actually. Maybe why Duncan chose him.

Niall also can be a good addition. He's an isolationist tho' still way much better than annoying Jowan. While I am mentioning Jowan, Lily can be a good companion. I am still feeling bad about betraying her trust.
From romance option point of view I can't say no to Dairren instead of Zevran. As he is a warrior he will probably see more use on my walkthroughs.
For more mage option there is a blood mage girl in the tower I always spare. She can show her gratidute for sparing her life along the way.
Another one for Daveth also. Only good thing about joining is death of Ser Jory. I can't imagine stuck with him 'till Lothering.

The blood mage girl is very cute. And conscripting her makes a certain amount of sense. Really the only way to save her life, and you can use another mage and she clearly wants a chance at redemption. And totally the way Duncan would have done it if she impressed him. "You want to live? Ok, you can live as a Warden under my command." (The general lack of ability to use the right of conscription is one of the disappointing things about the game. There's at lest 3 or 4 people I'd definitely conscript throughout the game.)
Good thought on Niall too. It would be nice if you could save him, and even if he failed, he showed gumption by at least trying to save the Circle and having an actual plan.

Dwarf Noble - Gorim = win, plus banter between him and Oghren is great.
Dwarf Commonoer, Leske, was really sad I had to kill him, thought for sure he'd be the one at the epilogue.
Human noble Mom/Gilmore/Oren
Mage - Jowan/Lilly/Cullen
Dalish - Assistant Keeper / Tamlen
City elf Soris/Shianni
There were lots of options, but we need more mages.

ROFL. Imagine having your mother do Wynne's lines, asking you about all your relationships and so on. Or the ultimate embarassment. Your mum tells the girl you are romancing everything embarrassing you did when you where nine as party banter.

Isabela - Just to add another rogue and a female.
Also I want to be able to have people travel with us and not have to be party members. Like keeping Gorim back at your camp if you are dwarven noble since hes injured. Or have some writer come along to write about your adventures.

I would not mind my mother replacing Wynne. At least my mother has a right to lecture me and she already knows me well. Somehow Wynne got this strange idea that she had the green light to nag me with unsolicited and unwanted advice and opinions, as if an old cow who spent 50 sheltered years locked up in an isolated tower had just the wealth of world experience that my character needed. Waaaaaaaay preachier than Leliana (who would, incidentally, also have the benefit of meeting her future in-law).Xandurpein wrote...

Niall. Glad to see I'm not the only one who liked this character, and his VA I'm sure is the same one as for Vincent from Ergo Proxy.
Jowan, need more mages considering how important they are and the only ones we have are so polarising in how people view them.
Gorim, if you played the Origin you know why.
Noble Mother, her staying to die is dumb, and my character would have dragged her out by her hair, else Duncan wouldn't get his recruit.

I forgot about The Lady of the Forest! I fell in love with her model and her hair the first time I saw her.
Edit: Mom and Shanni too. I mean come on! Shanni smashed a sucker in the face with a bottle. That is instant companion material. Mom was just bad ass. I should have made her come with me.
