What about Ser Otto? Damn shame he dies no matter what.
Jowan, because of the immense potential for him to grow as a person during your journey.
The Lady of the Forest. She might like to explore more of the world then her forest.

Goddamnit I had the PERFECT comic for this but I cannot for the life of me find it anywhere.

If you recognize this frame from the comic you get the joke. Replace Taldeer with Forest Lady and your male pc with Vindicare.

Isabela - she could kick some serious butt, loved her attitude..."sweet thing"
Ser Gilmore - would loved to have seen him "escort" my PC out to safety with Duncan...he WAS in the running to become a grey warden.
Jowan - was mentioned before, but it just seemed like such a natural segue - I was surprised the first playthrough when that option did not come up. A blood mage in the group would prove interesting - imagine the dialogues with Wynne and Morrigan...
Bann Teagan - yeah, I'm a woman, and yeah strictly for eye candy and his cute personality.
Jarvia - would have been interesting to have that option to give her a way "out" of the slums.

No redemption for that dog of the female persuasion, she made me kill Leske. I will never forgive her for that.

Ser Gilmore. His part in the Human Noble origin was far too short. He had a comedic-seriousness about him that I think would have made for great banter. Plus, I liked how my character teased him.
Daveth. I didn't like him at first; but after going through his conversation and seeing him in action, he was the reason I created a Rogue. He was the first character I had an emotional reaction to; I was very upset after the Joining.
Tamlen, from the Dalish Elf origin. I'd really like a way to save him, either DLC or mod. He was headstrong and a trouble-maker, but he had a spirit about him that I really enjoyed. Just like the main character, I'd have followed him anywhere.
Starrick, the Apprentice, from the "Notice of Termination" quest. I liked the VA's voice, and just that one small line showed exactly the type of intelligent, wise-cracking sidekick he would have been. Plus, he's another mage that's desperately needed. The first time I gave him his notice, I thought, "You know, you could have just joined my group instead of standing around here ... or vanishing."
Aneirin, from Wynne's personal quest. His backstory and ties to the group were already in place, and I fully expected the main character to ask him to join the party. Plus, it would be nice to have another mage option.
Soris, from the City Elf origin. He was a morality compass for the main character -- he knew what they were doing was wrong, but he just couldn't say "no" to his cousin, much like real life.

Ser Cauthrien: A woman wielding a two-handed sword? Uh... no. I'm all about social justice and whatnot, but the concept is just foolish. It screams "We're doing this just to show that women can wield big-a** weapons, too. Take that, man-pig!"
Lady of the Forest: Leader of the werewolves.
Zathrian: Leader of the elves.
Uldred: Leader of the abominations (or leader of the bloodmages if possession was accidental).
Kolgrim: Leader of the reavers.
Leaders of factions aren't good choices for party members. Each leader remains with his or her faction to rally an army to support your cause. In the case of Uldred and Kolgrim, it would be more interesting to be able to recruit each faction rather than the characters themselves.

kardol the leader of the dead legions. i bet he'd make a great no nonsense tank to replace alistair lol.
then one of the really creepy figures like uldred or the demonic cat; just because there are not enough evil pc's around

Lady of the Forest: "Um... don't you want me to raise an army of werewolves for you?"
Warden: "Nah. Maybe they'll do it themselves."
Lady of the Forest: " Don't you remember me explaining that each werewolf must be brought before me to be calmed and whatnot?"
Warden: "What? I was staring at your breasts. Sorry."
Lady of the Forest: "Why do want me come with you, anyway?"
Warden: "Uh... I watch too much Star Trek and have a thing for hot green-skinned girls?"
Lady of the Forest = bad choice
;-)

1. Jowan. Why couldn't I have used the Right of Conscription? I mean, seriously, the guy was my mage's BFF and I'm either going to let him become Tranquil or hung. Some friend I am. I should have totally been able to recruit him to the cause. Plot wise, you could harden him and make him think Blood Magic is a great thing, or help him repent. Side-quest would be to rescue Lily!
2. Cullen. Maybe instead of Wynne, if you choose to slaughter the Tower? He would have been like an extra-crazy Leliana, and a love-interest for Mage PCs only. It could have been *great*. I can picture him interacting with Morrigan at the camp, "APOSTATE! WHY ARE WE TRAVELING WITH AN APOSTATE? THIS IS BAD." You could harden him by making him shed his Templar-beliefs, or you could encourage him to continue to be a good boy of the Chantry. I don't know what his side-quest could be, but he'd be romancable, for sure. >.<
(Honestly I just want some closure there. You can't have a guy tell you he loves you and then never speak to him again, that's just cruel. >.<)
3. Slightly more improbable, but Bann Teagan. After you cure the Arl, Teagan should join your party in gratitude. He'd be especially fun in Denerium. He'd come with max persuade, and if you were trying to persuade a woman about something, Teagan would be all, "Let me do that for you,
4. Gorim. He's injured? Bah! You should have the option to tell him (as an Aeducan, especially) that you need his help facing the Blight. He'd be romancable for female!Aeducans. You could get awesome diaglogue options like "GORIM, WHY ARE THESE SURFACERS TALKING TO ME? HAVE THEM KILLED." and he'd be all, "Yes, my lady." It would be great. XD
Others, like Ser Gilmore, Momma Cousland (YES! That would be great! XD), Leske, Daveth (why didn't he live!), Ser Cauthrien, Soris, Isabel...all of them would be pretty amazing.

1.Ser Cauthrien cool character who should get a chance to redeem herself.
2. Isabela the Female ships captain/ duelist a real saucy personality.
3. the Female elf slaver mercenary from the alienage, she had alot of potentional for growth not to mention we have everything else but an elf at the party camp.
4. that knight that confronts you in denerim near the gnode noble tavern for satisfaction duel. That was a tease you persuade him and he walks off like he is going to check into your story and you never see him again. He would have been a good choice also.

Teagan. Simply because he's awesome.
Daveth. He seems like such an interesting character, almost reminiscent of Bishop from NWN2 but without the psycho masochistic personality. I guess I just think he's cute, then.
Cullen. He's adorable.
Cailan. It'd be interesting to bring him along and see how the story unfolds if he survived.
Gorim. As a replacement for Oghren, since they're voiced by the same guy.
Jowan. I'd like to have the chance to change him from being such a coward into a capable mage who'd actually be useful.
DAMMIT I TOLD YOU NOT TOO! BUT YOU JUST HAD TO DIDNT YOU! YOU SLIMY-
"head explodes"
hey - you can't tell people who they can and can't want to bring with them. if you no likey, then don't read it.
with that said:
Cullen. I wanted to trade him for Alistair when playing as a mage. Nuff said.
Set Cauthrien - rocks
Laynana (sp?) dalish keeper.
Swiftrunner! he made me laugh with his little furry diapers. but i seriously wanted a werewolf of my very own.he could keep my dog company
Jowan. i guess i felt sorry for the dude, but i liked him - idiot that he was
Lily - Jowan's fling. she really didn't deserve the punishment she got because of him. she might have ended up with Leilana, too. two chantry rogues...
Daveth. i loved that guy. as often as Ser Jory ended up dead, daveth was still around to deliver the killing blow on everything
the ditsy sister who gets the chant wrong. i don't want her in the party - just in the camp to tell me stories about andraste and ham.

ROFL I would love that! We would have Sandal clapping his hands and yelling "ENCHANTMENT!!!" and her clapping her hands and yelling "PEAS FOR ALL!"

I second Swiftrunner- he and I could be best pals back at camp. We'd throw dice and drink and oh how we'd laugh...!
Maybe that pirate babe from the Pearl. Would be nice to have an interesting rogue instead of the two losers.
Bann Teagan would be my number one though. I'd just rock out with him and my main character leaving everyone else at camp. We'd lay waste to the countryside and ol' Archie the demon wouldn't know what hit him. But I would, it would be Teagan's boot upside his ugly head.
