Dragon Age 3 should look more aesthetically pleasing

also, if the ears would be fixed or just tuned up it would help a lot because right now it looks like each character in the game has the cauliflower ears of a 45 year old Olympic wrestler

This is just one of the ways they could go about doing it, but MAKE WEAPONS SHEATHABLE! nothing more annoying and nothing is able to suck me out of the world more than floating weapons... even if it was a one size fits all sheath for all weapons of the same type, it would be better than what it is now

I agree with these points, but they are about polish and I think that should be done at the end and only if there is time. I don't like floating weapons either, but they are a minor gripe.
On a positive note, I think the new versions of all the races (except elves) were an improvement on DA:o. IMHO elves (and only elves) should be redone (again) for DA3.

One thing I liked about DAO's environments was the junk just lying around, scattered books, etc. that just made the places looked like they were lived in. That kind of detail just adds so much to the immersion. Course DAO also had the floating weapons ...

I think it's a lot easier said than done, though. The reason the weapons float on character's back is likely due to clipping issues - I have noticed, for example, that sometimes a longsword clips through the shield on a s/s warrior.

It really needs it. Compared to Witcher 2, both Dragon Age games are very far behind.

The darkspawn are ****ing laughable in DA2. They look like the bad guys from Ninja Turtles.smokyjones wrote...
Floating weapons i can hang with but please bring back the darkspawn from DAO. To me they looked perfect along with the colors from DAO they made the hole game felt "dark". i read/heard that game was made for the older gamers meaning it wasn't supposed to look cartoony and overall a dark foerboding feel to the game. I felt like DA2 went away from it significantly. but please keep the qunari from DA2 they are great but lets see some armor not just paint.
Everytime I see them I burst into laughter.
That said, I very much agree with the Qunari. I loved their design in DA2. They just need to be more varied. They all looked the same.

Well, yeah. Nothing in Dragon Age is scary. But I'm not supposed to burst into laughter when I see a darkspawn... or am I?thats1evildude wrote...
See, I don't get that. I don't find the new hurlocks to be intimidating but I didn't find the old hurlocks to be that scary either. They were kinda generic. And genlocks were just funny little gremlins with stubby legs, not the hulking bruisers from Legacy.

Ghasts, on the other hand, are pretty funny.

How about staves? Do you guys ever see people put their cane/staff at their back? Why not making the character hold their staff always and make animations when walking and running.
Or just throw away staves and replace them with wands such in Harry Potter

How about making weapons glow after you put runes into them. FFS, WoW had that feature back in late 2004. Surely, almighty Bioware can give us glowing weapons.
They do glow in DAO; I added a lightning rune and from on my sword had lightning zapping about it.

We certainly don't need - let alone want - wands. Think about it, you would not see a wand clearly when a spell is being cast from it, unless you made sure your character is facing you, which they rarely do since you're thinking about where to cast it, and you wouldn't see your blood mage hurting themself either, all while in combat. besides, it'd probably look emo, watching a blood mage cast spells. In a cutscene, however, where the mage is close up and focused on, it would be better to have a wand.Nizaris1 wrote...
Instead of floating weapons, how about put the weapons on the side hanging at their belt and the weapon size must be in realistic size, not super over sized to make this.

It's possible for staves to have a sort of sheath. It doesn't need to be anything fancy, just like a strap to hold it, and a small part of it could be covered by the strap/sheathe. Same goes with bows and crossbows, but with a sort of buckle to strap them in. Maybe a strap across the chest plate/armour for bows and crossbows, perhaps they could appear on the armour automatically when the weapon is equipped.
A show/hide sheathe button. It'd be a great idea. You could toggle it to "hide", so whenever a character unsheathes the weapon for battle, the sheathe will automatically disappear from their back.

DA3 is supposed to be using Frostbite 2 (Battlefield 3's engine). I expect it to look very nice, perhaps even better than the Mass Effect games.
