Krogan Dream Insanity Mod (work in progress)

The goal of this mod is to make Insanity harder.

The mod makes enemies more agressive and more hard to kill. It doesn't modify player/teammates weapons or powers. 

For the moment I only tested it with Reapers and Cerberus forces, not Geth. I tested as Infiltrator with Indra V. It's interesting how it works with other classes and enemies. If you test it please post your impressions here! (It's first time I made a mod, so don't hit me too hard please)


IMPORTANT: The mod is SP only, but I think some parts of the ini are used both in SP and MP, so DON'T use this mod when you play multiplayer!

Download modified Coalesced.bin file:

Download v.6 (changes)

Download v.5 (inital release)

Install:

1) Go to Mass Effect config folder, mine is "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\Mass Effect 3\\BIOGame\\CookedPCConsole", 

2) Backup Coalesced.bin file (copy it somewhere else or rename it)

3) Replace it by my Coalesced.bin 

4) Play Mass Effect 3 (any saved game or a new game). Be sure to choose "Insanity difficulty" in Gameplay options.

5) Enjoy!

Uninstall: (do it when you want to play MP) just put your original Coalesced.bin back.

You can easily see what was modified/try your own thigs by extracting contents of both original and modified Coalesced.bin files using gibbed editor, then running a diff.

PS: I think my mod and Spectre mod can be combined because we don't modify the same parts of ini files.

 Hey there, I'm also working on a difficulty mod atm, can you please specify what values you have changed and where?

I'm looking to make enemies acquire targets (you and your squaddies) faster and shoot more rounds.

Hi

It would be interesting to see your mod. Mine is almost too difficult, after beating the Firebase Ghost multiple times on Gold I failed the same level many times in my kroganized SP :-)

I changed almost everything in insanity definition (file 03_biodificulty.json, level5difficultydata) and some values in 00_bioai.json

To shoot more rounds you have to modify "ai_burststofire" in 00_bioai.json, for example I made nemesis shoot two times instead just one by setting

"sfxgamecontent.sfxai_nemesis": { "ai_burststofire": ["(X=2,Y=2)"] },

For target acquisition speed, there are specific parameters for some enemy classes in 03_biodificulty that I modified (look in Nemesis and Ravager sections). There is also something in bioai called ai_accmod_briefacquire but I didn't touched it.

Just a quick update - I'm fairly satisfied with the results atm - makes the player think more before acting and also requires the use of teammates (who now also are actually useful). I'm going to continue testing it before posting anything though.

Also, as an aside, one of my favorite changes is increasing the lifetime of decals to 10-15 minutes. After a fight you can really see the carnage that went down (except for missing bodies, still haven't found a way to fix that).
