I've only finished a couple of ME3 playthroughs so far, but one thing I've noticed is that some of the new and old squadmates seemed to get more attention from the dev team than the others. It was kind of hit-or-miss; most of the past and current squad did get the attention they deserved - they were really well-written with plenty of meaningful dialogue, and their story arcs felt fulfilling even if the character didn't survive. However, a few of our squadmates had a lot of potential to contribute to the story, and they didn't really get a chance to live up to that potential. I'm not blaming the dev team or saying that they did this on purpose out of hatred for those characters or their fanbases - it was probably just an unfortunate oversight.

Many among those fanbases have been calling for a Romance DLC to fix the stuff that was left out of those characters' storylines. I think that makes sense, considering how the Extended Cut really helped take the vagueness out of ME3's endings. However, the issues with the endings affected everybody's game - the biggest problem with the idea of a Romance DLC is that not everybody romanced those particular characters, and therefore not everybody would be interested in that DLC.

I think there's a pretty simple way to fix this issue. The fact that some of the characters didn't get to contribute as much to the story as they could have doesn't only affect their romances; even if your Shep was just friends with one of those characters, there could still be more to that friendship. I was thinking that more of the fanbase would probably be interested in a Romance DLC if it included content for those characters' friendships as well. Doing that would probably mean more work for the dev team, but it would be better for everybody in the long run because it would fix overlooked friendships as well as overlooked romances, and it would appeal to a larger percentage of the fanbase.

Anybody else think that's a good idea or a bad idea? (Of course the trolls are going to say it's the worst idea ever, but I tend to ignore trolls.)

If you aren't interested in something available for purchase, make the economically sound decision and don't buy it. Simple as that. If a character/romance DLC comes out for say... Miranda, and you aren't interested in Miranda, then don't buy her DLC. There are PLENTY of fans who will buy it, far more than the people who will not.

Or throw them in as OPTIONAL side quests in bigger DLCs like the rumored Retake Omega and Leviathan DLCs just remember that not everyone romanced Miranda, Jack, Jacob, or Thane and even though I rarely if ever romanced them I would like to see more of them and they all could benefit from new content.

I mean even Liara, Garrus, Tali, Ash, and Kaiden could benefit from new content. The new LIs Samantha and Steve WOULD definitely benefit from some new content. Diana Allers would only benefit if she were to become a real LI and not just a gloryfied one-night stand as she seems to be now. Although I'm not sure many fans would or could tolerate any more of her.
