Actually all I wanted was for you to show proof of your assertions, if it truly is as you say.
But all I see is me working from the facts from the game and you saying I'm wrong, I just need a bit more than that.

you may quote constant "facts" from the game but call everything that takes place after you kill the maruader lies. how can one differentiate when the only "truths" you present are your perceived truths?

Which is what everyone on this forum does.

Reject is not pride. For the last time, reject is resistence against a Reaper ultimatum, like we have always done before.

"Hi, i'm the boss of your enemies. As you know you have no chance of defeating us conventionally, but i offer you three alternatives to annihilation, which include killing us all or even becoming the new boss. You have until you die from a combination of heavy bleeding and third-degree burns to decide."

That's one weird ultimatum O_O

Of all four endings, perhaps Control is the one that doesn't impose anything. In Synthesis, i impose a change that saves everyone. In Rejection, you impose death.

(and please don't mention the possibility of the Cata lying because there's nothing concrete pro or against it)

Reapers are already hybrids. Organics are remade in their image, they are not remade in ours. We become tolerable to them. They no longer harvest because we are no longer organics - that's despicable.

Look, even if we set aside all discussion on how Synthesis affects both us and the reapers and how, the majority of people out there, both in Mass Effect and the real world, would rather be alive than free.
We are in no position to despise them.

WHAT? Species are achieving states similar to what synthesis forces on everyone in ME all the time.

The Zha'til achieved perfect synthesis in the previous cycle (and then the Reapers destroyed them).

Again with the damn Zha'til. Javik says they were an example of what happened with the Quarians and Geth, but they are only one episode, one that doesn't prove the Galaxy isn't bound to kill itself via synthetics anyway.

(again, Cata possibly not lying)

On a practical level, on a narrative level. On every level.
Remember what Legion and Mordin said? Being guided blinds you to alternatives. Being uplifted suddenly can be disastrous.

The Reapers are not directly guiding us in Synthesis. No more than a crane rebuilding a skyscraper guides those who frolic in the park next to it. The fact that both we and the crane glow green is of little importance.
This gives a pretty clear image of how non-intrusive the Synthesis change is.

The uplifting issue is an interesting one: if you give a medieval king a nuke, stuff can wind up.
But in Synthesis, all galaxy gets the same amount of tech at the same time. That is a HUGE war deterrent if you stick to the "still belligerant" vision.

Assuming the nuclear war is inevitable. It never was in our history.
Assuming it that if it is inevitable that it won't happen later. Again, fabricating a common enemy only works for so long.

Ye of course, but in the Watchmen setting, nuclear war was inevitable and fabricating a common enemy worked. I say thank God Manhattan turnet Rorschac into Rorschac. O_O

You made the statement, so the onus is on you to prove your statement from the game's canon, not for others to prove otherwise. So far, you have posted your own interpretation.

I'm not saying Synthesis is good. I'm not saying it's bad. I'm saying it's not inherently either and depends on how you perceive and interpret what is presented. There are facts presented in the game that you draw your conclusions from, and I never said otherwise. Your own interpretation of those facts is entirely valid. But my point is that those very canon sources can be viewed from a multitude of angles and do not present any one single correct view. Ergo, just because the Catalyst may prefer "x option", that does not make it bad, as that would depend on many factors, such as whether you believe the Catalyst's claims about the whole synthetic vs. organic problem, whether you believe the synthesis itself would be detrimental to organics, whether you believe the Catalyst is lying about "statement A or B", etc etc. There is no single canon interpretation, which is what your view presents. All I wanted was for you to acknowledge that. If you decide to, that's great, then we no longer need to debate this. If not, then I'll simply refer you to back to my previous post. Either way, it was a fun discussion and I'm going to play some AvP before bed.

Nah. You have sold everyone and their rights to the brat. You've surrendered and betrayed your allies. You violated their right of self-determination by mutilating their racial identities. The effect is an illusion of peace under mind control fueled by Shepard's essence of who [he/she] is and what [he/she] is".

Please, i'm trying to have a civilized discussion with another one who supports your point. If you could just watch, that would be great.

Come on, GU, you've played Old World Blues.

True story: when I got the quest to find a ghoul cowbow, I repeatedly tried to get Raul signed up. I mean, after his quest where you tell him to put on the costume, how could you resist?

The Sink Gang was a lot of fun I do have to say.  I just think that a world where every appliance and plumbing fixture had it's own nerosis would get a little... trying.

Great, now I have a Skyrim/Fallout:Vegas/Mass Effect crossover in my head, using the Space Magic of the Crucible as the plot device to bring them together.

Dragonborne shouting at Securitrons, the Courier beating the Reapers by liberal usage of nukes and stimpacks, and Commander Shepard shooting dragons and not realizing what the big deal about them is.
