minor oversight? Ser Cauthrien with Loghaine pre-Landsmeet

Now, I am no expert on medieval hierarchies, but the last time I checked, Prince trumps everyone but King, making me techically the "better" of everyone present in said conversation.
I would understand if Ser Cauthrien was speaking to me in such a way in order to insult me, and in fact she succeeded and at this moment I would like NOTHING better than to bury an axe in her forehead for the slight.
If a developer is so inclined, it seems like a great opportunity to either correct the injustice if it was unintended or to add in an option to fight or at least to respond to Ser Cauthrien's insult.

She doesn't care.
NO one talks to Loghain that way. Period. If you do, you are lower than dogspit, in her eyes.
Creepy stalker chica ftw.

So, I am technically Prince of Orzammar.
No, you're a Grey Warden. Even if you were a Prince when you left Orzammar (which you weren't) as soon as you join the Wardens, you lose your title.
Not that this matters one way or the other to Ser Cauthrien. Unless you're Andreste reincarnate, Loghian is your better.

He single handedly liberated the country, is a fantastic general and she can't imagine anyone better to rule Ferelden.

Incorrect. Once you have assigned a king to the throne in Orzammar, your noble house status is reinstated. You are referred to as a prince again.

This is true.
Cauthrien's attitude is also true, but it doesn't make me want to cut her into tiny pieces any less.

Whether it makes it true or not doesn't matter much I guess. I'm pretty sure Ser Cauthrien thinks of him as 'rightful king' though.

Like Loghain she is a farm girl who has worked her way up the ranks. She may not automatically respect the titled nobles she encounters in Denerim. A lot of the nobles may look down on Loghain because he is a commoner.
Your party is two grey wardens, an apostate witch, Orlesian priest, murdering Qunari, old mage, turncoat assassin and a drunken dwarf. You may not make the best first impressions.

Oh trust me I wish the option was there too, particularly I wanted one to fling the all-powerful "Plot Knife" at Howe during that exchange as a human noble. At least you do get an opportunity (or two) to lop off her head later on.andysdead wrote...
all the explanations are well and good, but someone please explain to me why i can't shove a massive two-handed sword through her gullet for insulting me!

It wouldn't be a very good move, politically.andysdead wrote...

Cauthrien is a commoner. She just doesn't respect anyone.AtreiyaN7 wrote...
I don't think she'd respect anything but another Fereldan noble - non-humans probably don't count to her. Of course, I'm pretty sure she called my human noble a churl anyway, so eh.

Because she's Ser Cauthrien the Unexpectedly Ultra-Powerful Lacky; the scene originally called for you attempting to kill her, her going into bullet time, dodging the sword blow, flipping over your head, decapitating you, and handing offering your head to Loghain with a smile as your bloody sack of a body hit the floor.
...but they didn't have enough zots for that.
You can try to kill her when you rescue Anora.

My own brother framing me and murdering my older brother wasn't a good move, politically, either. It eventually led to his untimely demise, in fact. Which is exactly what I have planned for Cauthrien. Ancestors protect her if we ever meet outside Eamon's estate.... (heh heh heh).
