Considering how DA2 went, is there anyone looking forward to
DA3? What does DA3 has to have in order for you to buy it? For me, my decision
must matter or have some sort of profound effect on the world, sidequests have
to be meaningful (no fetch quest), no recycling environments,
well-written/interesting characters, addictive combat, exploration, & more
dialogue options.

Those are my standards in order to even consider purchasing DA3, which aren’t unreasonable.

A great Bioware game. Which I'm confident they'll do.

What I want is a 9/10 "masterclass of roleplaying" sequel to Origins.

What I expect is a 4/10 "good if you have a tenner to spare" sequel to DA2.

I'mma buy it pretty much regardless of what they release. Bioware, despite all their apparent flaws that I didn't even know existed until I started visiting these forums, still makes the best and most emotionally engaging games I have ever played.

Why so confident? Did you enjoy ME3 & DA2?

An Ending that's actually a proper Ending.

And also an Ending that doesn't totally invalidate everything that came before.

I'm excited about DA3... that being said, I'm worried about whether it'll feel rushed or not.

I'm not even gonna deny it, I'll be buying the game regardless because I want to know what happens next, however I probably won't pre-order or buy it straight away, I wanna see some gamer reviews first... Unless they give me Cullen as a companion/LI and/or an Orlesian ball. Yeah, I'm fickle lol.

Yes. I think ME3 is Bioware's best game alongside Baldur's Gate 2 and KOTOR.

DA2 was a solid game by itself, just not as good as DA:O.

Bioware games are unique in my mind because you can't really get these type of games very often in the industry  anymore. Very few games can say they focus heavily on story and character development. That separates their games from most of the industry for me just for that reason alone.

Also a Lyrium addicted former Templar would be badass. I want a companion with a drug problem

Catch him sneaking off in the middle of combat to get his Lyrium fix?

Imagining this scene in my head is just hilarious. Especially how he's getting high off the Lyrium...

I'll simply consider the reviews, dev cycle, and price.
When price drops below acceptable range, I'll consider buying.

Also I'll try it out if one or more of my friends are buying. Using their origin account. If I can beat the game, start a new character, go into half of the game and not start yawning, then I will buy it earlier.
Because that's what happened to my DA2 play throughs. After playing it for the first time I was so bored and I didn't even finish a 2nd character.

DA2 is an okay game, but a) it is not a worthy sequel to DAO and B) it is not a worthy $60 game. It's probably a good $10 game.

I enjoyed both games so I'm gonna buy DA3 no matter what...
I guess as long as they write great companions and make Thedas interesting , i will keep on buying.
I have no idea what the DA team is up to but if they have time /ressource to polish their work , they're able to make great things.

I am indeed looking forward to DA3. And it doesn't have to have anything in particular for me to buy it, other than 'Bioware' on the label, and 'Dragon Age' in the title.

Yes I'm looking forward to it, and I'm more likely to buy it than not, but that's not to say I don't have reservations, it'll come down to what they do to turn me off the game rather than what they're doing for me to buy it in terms of changing my mind.

Obviously no one else could've enjoyed those two games, right?

classic fanboi.

Anyway, I would like to see most of all great talent trees for all classes and opportunity to customize my character. Lots of interesting areas, which aren't recycled. Lots of loot. Interesting story where your choices lead to a different outcome. Combat slowed down a little.

Congratulations, you're supporting and facilitating mediocrity.

Anyway, I want 40+ hours of non-repeating content, tactical combat with an optional isometric view, fully equippable companions, fully written-out dialogue options, more than one city, and auto-attack.

Unless each of those is fulfilled, the game is a rental for me. And before I decide to rent, I'm reading customer reviews of the game a week after it's released since it's pretty obvious that "professional" critics can't be trusted to give honest critiques of Bioware games anymore.

If someone's willing to buy a game on faith in the company and franchise, that's because by their standards (which does not = low standards, just different) none of the previous offerings have been "mediocre." If a future game were to be, by their standards, mediocre, then they would be free to revise their purchasing policy thereafter. So, congratulations on being narrow-minded.

My only real standard for Dragon Age 3 is that it has to have a great, fully interactive story.

last bioware game i realy enjoyed was 3 titles ago. My expectations are suitably low

thus far the news on da3 has indicated it wont be my sorta thing, even so i expect it to be better than biowares last 2 attempts
