Infiltrators are not unplayable, they're just no longer the go-to class for noobs attempting to play above their difficulty level.

If you don't like how TC is now, stop whining and play another class.

That's just wrong. There were certain ways to play the infiltrator that made it FUN. For example I loved Melee Geth Infiltrator build, which is now quite laughable, 'cause it dies almost immediately on GOLD.

And you're kind of missing the point Infiltrator are still OP. The nerf changed nothing but made the class less fun.

And if you get a shotgun, the melee build works, but well, I can use an "immortal" OP kroguard to run with a shotgun and melee things (Heck, why don't people complain that there is a class which is immortal?).

Well, the nerf left me with Drell Adept, Novaguard, Vorchas and sometimes Engineers to play wtih, since all other classes are chore-like.

If they nerf Novaguard next (Because someone always cry, that they're immortal), I guess I'll just give up on this game entirely.

P.S. IMHO people who talk about 'skills' has to go out and befriend someone and get a real life
for a change...

LOL... I JUST unlocked the Geth Infiltrator last night after wanting it since it FIRST came out. I did all right with him, considering I was using a Javelin 1 on Gold. We got a Full Extraction vs. Geth and I finally got the "Unwavering" Achievement.

The Kroguard is perfectly balanced, he has the best durability while having laughable offensive power.  Not to mention he's useless outside of close range.

Score means nothing. Your team could be terrible, you could be farming FBW and I said the Valiant is doable with enough gear.

Laughable offensive power? Get a Reegar with Armor-Piercing Ammo, shredder, and Shotgun Buff and things will die ridicolously fast, while you remain immortal and even if something happens to your shield, you can just charge regenerating it.

There are a lot of unbalanced classes, but instead balancing other classes to make them playable they nerf Infiltrators in a questionable way.

Either the class is still great, or I've received a Reaper upgrade of my own skill overnight. Apart from now decloaking before finishing a disarm objective, I didn't really notice the nerf...

Sounds like you are one of those players that are "good" players only when using the Infiltrator. If you can't play well with the Infiltrator class as it is now then you are definately not a "good" player by any standard.

It's like you're saying "I'm a good player but now when they nerfed the only class that I can play with I totally suck".

Wow, they really nerfed this class, the Geth infiltrator is unplayable with this balance change, tactical cloak is way too short, the damage from my black widow is really weak. Just played a round where we had to get the four access points, I was killed every time I de-cloaked. I consider myself a good player, I usually finish 1st or 2nd every round, but they really took the fun out of this class. If it ain't broken don't fix it.

Even if he's only good at playing Infiltrator, what's so bad about it? He had fun playing the game (the game is entertainment). Maybe he doesn't want to waste months of life to play a game getting 'skills'. If he can't get his fun playing the game now, why should he happy about the nerf?  Hmm?

I didn't question his motives with playing the Infiltrator. My post was about the claim where he said that he was a good player, but a good player would still be able to use this class with excellence even with the nerf.

If it's not fun to play with it on gold anymore, then feel free to go back to bronze where I'm sure it will feel fun again. (beacuse playing only for fun was the main question here huh?)

Uh, no.

Longer cloak instead of duration = more aggro on the rest of the team but not enough TC damage boost to help get that enemy of my team's back when I return to support them.

Bronze/Silver are anything but fun. You can do it solo. Things die too fast and there is too little to kill :)

i still first place gold with infiltrators but there alot less fun for me i was so close to being able to one shot with my snipers without rail amps snipers like black widow and valiant i needed one more up for both and id have had one shots with those snipers now i need to get them to ten and hope i can one shot without hs because im tired of the extra work i have to put in i outscore alot of people most of them actually with any class but inflitrator was always my favorite second was myy turian sentinal stability is great with the hurricane and the carnifax togethor as a combo with overload are astounding

I did not say it was the best choice. I said he needed to take the Duration if he needs more than 5.2s long Cloak. That is a fact. Reading comprehension. You do not have it.

Because then they feel like all that hard work, as hard as sitting in a chair pushing buttons can be, was all for nothing. n00bs, casual players, competing with them REALLY gets under their skin.

Allright, I see what's going on here.

1. You play gold with a certain character because that character makes it fun (or easy) to play gold

2. You don't want to play bronze/silver because that's not fun since it's too easy

So you don't want to play on a lower difficulty because it's too easy, but you only have fun playing on gold when you use a character that makes it easy to play on gold?

Either you are a good player and can play on every difficulty, against every enemy, with every class with ease and still have a lot of fun and get high scores etc. Or you are a crappy player who should stick to bronze or a decent player who should stick to silver. For someone to say that they are a good player and then say that they have a hard time using a certain class that good players normally handle with ease is just BS (no, I don't mean Batarian Sentinel).

-sigh- I've been playing Infiltrator almost exclusively since release. While I think they over-nerfed the duration a bit, Infiltrators are certainly not remotely unplayable, and can still rather easily top the score charts if you're speced for damage. (And I refuse to use the Krysae)

Both CQC and Sniper infiltrators are still perfectly playable. And that's ignoring the buffs the class has gotten in the past month or two. The Sniper (or Shotgun) Amp gear piece can give you +15% damage, the MQI has fantastic grenades AND more health/shields than the other types, and we've now got new ammo types that let you do even more damage.

The hardest thing about playing an Infiltrator at the moment, is cloak/decloak glitches. Beyond that, I think another 1/2 - 3/4 of a second for cloak would be better.
