I was asked by a friend of mine, who does not have a BSN account, to advertise a ME3 fanfic she has posted online.
In her words: "It's an alternate start to the Mass Effect 3 game, starting in Vancouver during the trial against Commander Shepard (female). Basically, the intro level to the game done 'right'. It starts of written from the POV of Shepard, jumping later in the chapter into David Anderson's view. Later, if the story keeps going, it's going to jump around between different characters."

My friend wrote a lot of it but she has always been one of those online writers who needs encouragement and readers to feel like she's not wasting her time by spending hours writing a piece that no one reads.

So she asked me to advertise her project here.

So if you want to help my friend out and support her, please take a look. I'm a fan of that particular writing style and would personally want to see it continue.

Not bad at all. Could use a bit of proofreading (only on "f" in "rifle", sort of thing) but certainly stronger than the opening in the game.

My ideal opening would be Shepard's actual trial. From a story perspective, it would be clear that it's just for show, to avoid political fallout with the Batarians (or, if the player hadn't done Arrival, because the Alliance must be seen to condemn Cerberus regardless of what Shepard actually did for the galaxy). From a game standpoint, the questions Shepard would be asked would reflect the specific character choices from ME2 (sneak into the Aratoht base or charge in guns blazing? Destroy the Collector Base or hand it over to TIM? Kill the Batarians threatening Mordin's assistant or let them go? Who died on the Collector base? And so on).

Regardless of Shepard's choices, she would be derided and her claims of the Reapers dismissed...right up to the point the first Reaper lands in Vancouver.

You should let the writer know what you think directly on the site. As far I've been told, he doesn't use the BSN.

The way I see it, the more actual response there the better. Wouldn't mind seeing more from him.
