This is what Garrus said sometime in the campaign. Angry orphans, mad at the world, at the reapers who took their parents, their siblings, their home. Kids who grow up with nothing to lose. Nothing but hatred and vengence on their mind. Garrus has quite a few gems of wisdom throughout the series, but I find this in particular to stand out in the end of the game.

If you choose synthesis:
You, as an angry orphan, are now PART of what killed your parents, you can feel what they did to all those humans and species before. Its a mathematical thing to the reapers, but to the organic part of us, it would easily repulse us. Imagine feeling the reapers thoughts, no amount of understanding would make that okay. It would be worse than indoctrination, being a part of what killed so many.

If you choose control:
They are out there, waiting. They say they will protect, but they thought they were helping us to begin with. You'd be a time bomb waiting to go off. You couldn't forgive or forget something that horrible being out there, even if shepard was controlling them.

If you choose destroy:
Reapers are dead. Your family and friends are still dead. They won't be coming back, but at least the reapers payed full price for their BS. I think a lot of the angry orphans might grow up with a better chance than the other 2 possibilities.

My little theory here is that even if shepard is capable of making synthesis and control happen, the rest of the galaxy is sure not ready for this forced commitment. Even the catalyst said synthesis was tried once, but it didn't take. But shepard is going to force that on everyone and everyone will be okay with it?
Imagine its the end of WW2. ****'s beaten, you survive the holocaust and you get full german citizenship reinstated, oh and a scholarship from the former **** party. Would you take that or spit in their face?

I think my paragon Shepard who survived the destroy ending needs to start an orphanage.

Synthesis: I can imagine reapers flying into stars committing mass suicide.

Control: GodShep: "Deal with it"

Destroy: Reaper corpses will have lots of ****** on them.

Aw man. Now I'll have to worry about roving bands of bloodthirsty, flesh-eating orphans. This makes my decisions THAT much harder.

Destroy means the cycle continues and this will happen all over again.

This is the first time on BSN I've seen the OP Godwin the thread in the actual OP. Has it happened here before?

Reminds me of the final e-mail you get before Earth...

Normal is the best revenge

From: Diana Allers

Commander:

I don't know if you're aware of how much you mean to people, but I am. The things I see in Battlespace's mailbox could make a Geth grow tear ducts. Page after page of people asking you to go save their mother's planet, or the homeworld they outgrew, or the mining colony they sank their fortunes into. They don't know that you can't do it all. They just know that Commander Shepard beat a Reaper once and can do it again.

I know how they feel. When I heard about Bekenstein, it was like all the nerves in my body were cut. But I need to believe that this isn't the end. I need to believe that you're going to destroy the Reapers and I'm going to film it as it happens. And when the fight is over, and my signal goes out on tightbeam, people are going to come together from all over the galaxy. They're going to watch from their couches, and they'll celebrate. And one day they'll laugh again.

The laughing part is important. I want you to make it all normal again, Shepard. Because that's the best revenge I can think of.

The psychological impact of Control is difficult to think about...
In synthesis, it doesn't matter because everyone is brainwashed anyway...

OP, the synthesis thing is merely your interpretation. the synthesis ending shows no signs of any reaper threat. Many people are in favor of synthesis and dont feel like the synthesised would have any "revenge motivation" whatsoever.
twisting the synthesis into something evil is nothing but personal perspective.

Hating synthesis is like hating magic and rainbows...because synthesis is magic and rainbows.

For the Reapers...

the reapers are the result of a program that will keep organics from dooming themselves out of existence.
they do what they are programmed and told to do, not what they want to do.
they are merely a gun, in need of a trigger finger to commit an atrocity.
