I just wanted to slap Shepard because he wasn't biting the Catalyst's head off. That "I don't know" just made me wanna kick him down a flight of stairs. DUDE! BIG OLD REAPER! WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T KNOW! SAY SOMETHING MODERATELY INTELLIGENT!

Meh. At least Shep didn't just fall over and bleed out. That would have been mildly embarassing, you know, as a badass.

OH WATE: Refuse.

SERIOUSLY PISSED ME OFF!

Shep gives badass speech about fighting til the end

*proceeds to slouch over like a chump as camera pans out*

WTF

Such a FU on BW's part I swear.

No BW I don't like your ****ty endings. Can't even shoot starbrat in the face anymore :(

"Refuse" practically screams petulance on the part of Bioware.

Okay, so since the situation is so dire, I add some more modifications into the mix with my Save Humanity Virus. All people develop the exact same distribution of melanin in their skin, we all become a nice golden tan color, and we all develop black hair and brown eyes. No more racism! Oh, and all future offspring will be female, and reproduce via parthenogenesis, and only voluntarily, and only two offspring per lifetime. So, goodbye sexual politics, goobye pregancy from rape, and goodbye overpopulation. No, I didn't ask anyone if they wanted these improvements. Am I still a hero?

Well, if the human race was going to die out within 3-5 years, I guess.

Better than us being wiped out forever, no?

It's not a good scenario by any means, but it's better than the alternative.

Well, since I can do anything I want, I guess I'll keep tinkering. Sex drive is gone, causes too much trouble. Hair is a problem, so alopecia universalis for everyone. And since I think golden tan is kinda boring, I'll give everyone a nice deep red skin tone, like a demon. In fact, let's roll with the demon motif, demons are cool. I'll give everyone horns, fangs, bright yellow eyes and barbed tails. We all look like a twisted version of a succubus. I think it's a neat new look for humanity. Problem?

lol you keep changing your story to make a point...synthesis happens once....not over and over again...nice try...but i fail to see your point...

I think you would fail to see my point regardless. You think the number of iterations is relevant? :pinched:

Hair is a problem? Eyelashes are kind of important.

In any event, while I may have some negative emotional responses to some of your changes, I will let those go as largely irrelevant. I cannot deny that your changes would be either beneficial or meaningless, at least at face value, and will accept them if they'll help us.

What? Just because you choose not to use it doesn't mean you still aren't forced to use it. Besides, the body doesn't "reject" the appendix, it merely ignores the appenix's existence until it explodes--but that's a completely different story.

I don't care if it leads to a utopia where unicorns crap peppermint candy and our flatulence smells like a sweet rose.

It isn't my call to make for everyone.

No, you're right, it's not.

Besides which, if synthesis is possible, we'll eventually find it on our own (where each person can choose to have it), yes?

Absolutely. I'm universal in this concept; in an appropriate analogy, I chose to give everyone the knowledge about transhumanism and control in Deus Ex: HR.

Seriously. W.T.F.

Especially since NO ONE ELSE IN THE WHOLE SERIES reacts to Shep shooting them outside dialogue without combat being active. NO. ONE.

Just a stomping foot "how dare you shoot starchild!111" BLEH.

I don't shoot the Catalyst's hologram. I just told the little bastard I wasn't accepting the choices in grand style.

:lol::lol::lol:

I totally chose the "Refuse" option of DE:HR, the fourth option. Everyone on the station had a bias of some kind, and I thought it was up to humanity to decide for themselves.

I really don't mind Refusal. I mean... maybe it would have been nice to win conventionally, but it'd also make the Crucible completely pointless.

I shot him. I was going to pick Destroy (was even on the panel once you can't turn back too!) turned (didn't move forward or back) shot Starbrat for the lulz and what do I get?

LOL I never pick that one. Mostly because synthesis in Deus Ex (HR obviously) isn't forced. That's a big bonus in it's favor (and I almost always pick that ending). That and I felt the other endings were kind of meh.

I never picked the blow everyone up because I figured the Illuminati would just spin it to their benefit anyway.

The Crucible is a Macguffin, a terrible plot focus. It deserved to be forgotten by midway through the story like virtually all other Macguffins.

Well, I don't believe synthesis turns you into a slave.

The moral hitch I have with it is that you're invalidating people's choice, their freedom.

If you side with Sarif or the others whose names escape me... then that will change the world. Disregarding Deus Ex canon (which is metagaming), I don't want to make augmentations a society norm. That's not my decision to make. On the other hand, I don't want to make augmentations carry a stigma.

Waaaay too much bias and spin going on in that base to let them decide for humanity.

I figured it was going to happen anyway with the Illuminati so I might as well pick the one that didn't result in my character being a complete outcast and freak. So yeah...

/selfish

Plus Sarif was the only one who didn't make me wanna kill him. I did want to punch him in the face though for giving Adam extensive Augmentions that he didn't even need. But I got there and he's all "let's get the injured out!" like a nice guy and all the wind got taken out of my sails. :pinched:

I like Sarif but his vision of augmentations is utopic. He'd gloss over the bad points and the majority would accept augmentations.

I'd rather them make the decision without these misleading influences is all.

True enough. At least most of the horrible side effects are gone thanks to the experiments on Adam. (Really wish the chewing out over that had happened). Still that brainwashing chip stuff made me. Almost made me side with...what's his name? The old guy that was friends with Sarif.

I can see that.

I just don't trust the Illuminanti not to be able to spin it...somehow. :pinched:
