I <3 pugs....

Last night I was with 3 other players, all N7 100s all random... Silver match. I can see that they try their best even with low characters/mod/weapons and i helped them to finish all the wave to extraction, only me dying in keeping off the core of the reactor from the mob (geth/reactor/silver).

Was a good game nonetheless!

other times i want to kick them in the balls: no one use consumable/rockets, no one run for the delivery/hack...

On Hydra one time two ppl went for the top of the Dam, leaving my asari azz alone with an useless other character. Wave 3 pizza delivery, i did the first, then I came to literally 3 feet from the LZ before going down with the second. i did not revive myself just to see if any of those noob came to deliver...

Nope, the pizza never made it...

Some of my most fun matches have been PUGs, with low level N7s. And I'm talking about people lower than N7 50. I get all happy every time I see someone with for example N7 12 and level 1 common weapons equipped, and no gear.

I like mucking about with people who don't know that you get more XP from full extraction. Who have no clue what to do with the package. Who either don't know you're supposed to do the four objectives, or team up three people on each of them. Who don't know the hacking is quicker with everyone in the circle. Who die all the time, in weird places. Who'll use a rocket on the first Prime they see, even when he's alone and three of us are already shooting at him.

I think it's fun because I remember when I first started, and had no clue about anything. I feel like I'm helping someone who actually needs it. And now that I finally have a microphone I might also be able to give a few helpful hints. I still found it fun when I couldn't give them hints as to what to do, but now I hope it will be even more fun.

I am by no means a great player. (I don't even play gold yet, unless I end up there by accident.) Maybe that's why it's fun for me. They screw up, I screw up, and we have a generally good time, and hopefully make it to extraction. Some of us, at least.

My biggest issue in the bronze match was the guy with Krysae X who you'd think would know what to do but seemed the most clueless.

I'm only a week into MP and had quite a harrowing experience on a bronze FBW mission last night. I play a human infiltrator and have already learned my role is knock out objectives and revive people. Well last night in a PUG, we had the pizza delivery on wave 10 and our two high N7s somehow got knocked out and apparently had no medi-gel because they died before I could get to them. I tried to go after the pizza but kept getting assaulted and would drop it. The 4th guy was valiantly attempting to combat the banshees and brutes overrunning the drop zone and would die occasionally so I'd run over to bring him back, then go back for the pizza. Long story short, we managed to keep each other alive and make the delivery with little time to spare. I didn't have a headset but could only guess those high N7s were screaming at us for 3 straight minutes as we were seconds from blowing it at least 5 times.

Pugs are hit and miss. Sometimes I feel you just cannot win in terms of pleasing other players as well.."omg you used a missile for that!?". Yes it was four phantoms and a downed player!

Today I played 1 silver match just one I think I had 7 different teams through it I finished it with one other person. I could have solo'd probably with my Kroguard. I usually do well but it seems like all I find our people with around 100 or so N7 level rating using basic guns on gold so frustrating or FBW/G/G which I don't want to play anymore.

Ahh randoms the sorriest PoS you'll ever see, at least there not as bad in battlefield try to 12v1 a team becase the other 11 guys are either off in the mountains trying to stat pad there already terrible K/D or fighting over the attack helicopter that will get shot down 15 seconds after they take off while yor left by your self trying to capture and hold 3+ flags. Goods times....

 I just realized (after playing a few matches with a less than stellar player on my friends list) that it is even worse if you are playing with your friends and the match ends up tanking. Most of my friends are up to playing Gold and finishing and winning- one of my newer additions to my XBL friends list not so much . The two matches that I had him in sucked massively. I didn't want to be rude so I just told them "I should go" lol because I have other stuff I need to get done today lol.

Why does it sound like op doesn't want to use any consumables at all.

Especially the FBWGG, after you went down, just get up yourself. Many times the whole team went down because dumb teammates went out one by one to save your ass and get downed one by one.

I try and balance the use of consumables with the probability of success for each of the pugs. I use rockets when needed and the same with medi-gel but some people do not seem to use them at all and I wonder if they know about them.

This.  You can get a feel for the quality of your team's play in the opening few waves I think.  If, in that time, people are are bleeding out all over the place, not medi-gelling, making daft calls and we're generally being over-run, then I won't waste more consumables.  If we make it to the closing waves however, I will.

I find random games a bit of a hit or a miss.  In one game last night, we wiped on wave 2; in the next lobby I joined we sailed through it. (Four adepts FTW!)
