Three days?  The damn thing hasn't worked for over a month for me, except maybe once a week (well, not at all presently since I refuse to ever bother now).

Dump it.  Dump it and demand that Bioware drop this nonsense and build a web app or something not iPhone exclusive - so that everyone who does not want to hack through multiplayer gets the damn assets.

Better yet, remove the stupid thing for SP altogether.

You'll also notice this thread was created 3 months ago, so it's certainly not a recent problem.

"Looking into it" means precisely nothing at this point.

This is getting frustrating, fix it or drop it.

Hey guys, see the workaround in Reptilian Bob's thread "After iOS6 update, datapad won't connect" in this general discussion forum. It allowed me to finally get into the GaW map :o) It seems that this issue is actually a bug in the datapad app rather than a server related problem. Basically it's down to dodgy code!

So we have to rely on the users to once again fix BW's fvckups?  Kudos to the guy, but no.  Not some convoluted workaround, but one-two-three, if we have to deal with it at all.

This is Bioware's problem.  Waiting until the fans do something about their shoddy software is cheap and unacceptable.  I don't care if it's free, they made it necessary for this to be necessary in the first place.

Make the readiness a part of the SP, a cross-platform (web) app or toss it altogether.

It's that simple.

Yeah, could you give it to me as well, please? I'd really like to get this problem dealt with.

For those of you on iOS6, ipod touch. I have a workaround for the Galaxy at War map. I get the connection error when trying to play the mini-game. I press okay, then press reload. wait about 10sec then start tapping the bottom right corner, where you would find the upgrade button. when I hear the "blink" sound I stop tapping and wait for it to say can't connect make sure you are connected to the internet. I press Okay, then press the back button. wait about 5 sec and the mini game should appear. ie the war map. deploy your fleets and collect your coins and readiness!

I hope this helps others, its worked for me.

Seems to work, trying it for myself now.

Yep! Tried it several times now and it works like a charm!

We should sticky this for others.

Superb.

Now Bioware never has to fix it.

Such convenience.

You were.  With having to hammer away on that stupid app forever.

Oh, well.  Single player in ME3 is pretty much dead, anyway.

Finally joined the cult proper with an iphone 5 after mucking around with an ipod touch only to find GaW no longer working as mentioned by many, many people in this forum.

Can report Reptilian Bob's work around definitely works.... many thanks Reptilian!

Funny enough despite having iOS6 on the ipod touch, the GaW map does load.

Agree with the other comments that it would be great to have some acknowledgement from BW; even if all was said was that the app was no longer to be supported.

Wasn't my fix, it was someone else's. I just posted it here.

You're welcome, though!

I just had a very terrifying thought. If the Datapad is this bad on IOS6, how bad is it going to be on IOS7?

I've finally gotten my Readiness Level back to 100%. A big thanks to Reptilian Rob for his workaround solution.

I've tried using this method, and it isn't working.

@DeinonSlayer, it should work if you do the following:

Select the GaW option and click Ok when prompted for "origin login required".

If the auto logon thing appears, allow that to dissappear.

When the outline of the galaxy map appears and you see the twirly swirly progress indicator, start tapping the screen.

You need to tap the screen at the lower right hand corner where the Upgrades button lives. On an iPad this is about 1 inch from the bottom of the screen.

Repeatedly tap the screen until you hear the noise of the Upgrades button press.

When the swirly twirly progress indicator stops and you get the internet connection error message, press the Back button and the GaW should appear. Sometimes the upgrades screen appears. If so, just press the Back button to get to the GaW.

If this fails then hit Reload and try the above steps again.

Good luck!

Another method that is regularly semi-successful is the following:

make sure you are connected on a cellular network and not wi-fi

close the ME3 datapad (double click home, hold down the app until they turn wobbly and then close the data pad app by pressing the X)

Open the app; wait for auto login (may take several minutes) and then chose GaW.

This generally loads GaW correctly and will allow you to interact with the galaxy map.

The reason why it is semi-successful is that it works ~75% of the time and anotehr 50% of the time, I get the blue screen GaW error message when deploying the fleets.

Hopefully others can verify that it also works for them,

So is this just on iOS6? I'm on 5.1.1 and the only problem I have is that after the app has been idle for a while, it gives an error message when I first try to do something, but when I retry it works. That's the only problem I've had. To be fair, though, you could just stay logged out and your readiness won't drop, or play one game of multiplayer and get about 6% or more readiness in about 15 minutes of playing.

Okay why is nobody fixing this? I bought the game for myself and gifted it to a friend; bought every DLC that was available and surely this can't be so difficult?
