How long did you play Bronze before you transitioned to Silver?

If you have a 50/50 success ratio without being blatantly carried, then play more silver. Practice makes perfect, after all. If you feel you're carried (be honest with yourself), then play Bronze with low lvl characters and your worst weapons.

Find a few friends you can run with, random on silver is hit and miss, mainly miss as players are after the credits, I can carry part of a team, but it can get interesting at times.
I had a quick look at you manifest, you will do fine, I have a few people on my friends list who have just entered silver, it is my favorite level, if you need someone to run with my GT is the same as here, on almost every evening around 6 AST

Otherwise, my advice is to use search to see if there is a written guide for the class you're playing, make sure you have a spec that makes sense, make sure your cooldowns are reasonable, look up Gold gameplay (or solo) videos of the class on Youtube and make sure you understand how biotic explosions and other combos work.

I think it was the second day, might have been the first. I ran into a player that was in bronze testing stuff, he was a silver/gold player, he suggested we try silver and we did, I will never forget that first extraction which was my first silver. We became friends, he introduced me to friends and the rest is history, I stayed in Silver for a long time to get my characters and gear up, get new weapons, every day I got better, ventured into gold once in the while.

You're ready, not going to get any better playing bronze.ParthianShotX wrote...
Or, put another way, how do you know you're ready for the transition? On Bronze : always extract, now often in 1 or 2 spot on the board BUT my few forays into silver are a mixed bag -- 50/50 success ratio and I'm usually at the bottom of the board. So, not ready yet? Or ready but need to take the knocks with my nascent steps?

Personally, I'm topping all my characters at level 20 currently and then plan on going at least a week where I ONLY play silver with the level 20s. At that point I'll decide whether I made the right decision. I'm guessing it is, but we'll see.

After playing Silver until the close of the Beta, I decided that I'd do Bronze for early levelling (until a class was at lvl10) then migrate to Silver.
Once I'd gotten all my basic weapons, and most of my uncommon weapons to mk10, I'd go straight to Silver after promoting, unless I was levelling a class I wasn't fully comfortable with at low levels i.e. Vanguard/Infiltrator, whereas Soldier is always the one I'll start levelling after promotion first, especially after the recent buff to the Crusader's weight.

* no mission failure for a while (might have made several partial extracts along the way, even including me dead in the end but not often)
* playing with randoms showed me I knew how to handle myself and even carry the team a bit
* I had sticked with a character/class for a while and knew its strengths/weaknesses (in my case Human Adept)
* I had joined a clan whose members offered help and advice, not only on Bronze but also on Silver when I "graduated".
Score doesn't matter. What matters is how you feel you're playing ; are you struggling to stay alive every game, against every faction ? Have you been able to rescue the whole team once or twice ? Or maybe gotten yourself out of a dangerous situation you'd have died 1-2 weeks ago ? etc...
It's normal for you to struggle longer on Silver than on you had Bronze ; it's more difficult and games with randoms are harder as well since errors are forgiven less easily (running around on Bronze = common and no problem ; big issue on Silver and deadly on Gold).
Feel free to add me on Origin if you play on PC, I'll be glad to help ! Or join a group, too

The same cannot be said of others though. I rotflol when I decided to play a rank 1 vanguard in bronze, just to give the toon a few levels before I play silver. This host took one look at my N7 ranking and said. (name) F**** YOU. and left.

Oh yes I was usually on the bottom of the board. You know you are ready when you no longer go down every wave. If you only go down 3-5 times mission. You are ready.

I'd suggest you buy 1 Jumbo pack once in a while. 1 Jumbo pack = 10x each consumable for 33k creds (= 1 Silver game).Heldarion wrote...
I'm stuck at silver for a while now, although I finish 1st 75% of time. Trouble is, whenever I grind up credits, I spend them on spectre packs and am without any missiles and/or medigels. So I make it a challenge for myself to play a silver match without any medigels :>

Sounds great, don't worry about the score, it doesn't mean anything at this stage if you are trying your best, sticking with the team and learning a little each game.
Once you are comfortable with silver, what we do is a few randoms, it keeps us sharp.
I feel blessed to have so many good players on my list, we will quite often bring in two randoms to our game and it makes it interesting for us, rewarding for them.
I have a few friends from here also that I play with often, when you see a player that you feel is good and you would like to run with, send them a friend request, I have both M & F players(friends), they all rock:)

After that, I more or less waited until I had promoted a couple of characters, in order to get the feel of the game (especially the part where I could not just call the HUD to pause the action).
Then again ME3 is my first MP shooter...

Funnily enough, I often play with P51Mus7ang here. If you want send me a request, GT is in the signature, and I'll help show you the ropes.

I transitioned into Silver when I found that Bronze was just not a challenge anymore. When I first started I was at the bottom of Bronze, but I eventually transitioned up into Silver. The first couple of games, just don't play too aggressively like you would in Bronze. Once you get more used to it you can charge the enemy more. Score doesn't matter at all, by the way. Once you get a feel for Silver you can eventually go into Gold, but that's a whole other subject.

I felt ready at about n7 80 but had a set back when I joined a silver and got kicked before even playing a game. Put me off for a while :'(
