50/50 success rate is honestly not bad for Silver with randoms.
I've been playing Silver consistently for more than a month. Bronze is way too easy for me now. Yet I still don't get near a 100% extractions on silver.
I usually check the score board after around wave 4 or 5. If I'm at the top by a significant margin, things are going to get very hairy. I'm not a bad player, I consider myself a good team player, but I do need a decent team.
How long did you play Bronze before you transitioned to Silver?

90% of the demo then straight to silver when the game was released and then a week later gold.

Roughly 3 weeks. Played silver for almost a full 2 months though, except for FBWGG. Yes, I'm guilty. Then I actually got good on gold, and have been playing it regularly UUG and am usually in the top 2 scorers.

I think I played bronze for well over a month. Then one day I did silver and got used to it. Now all I play is silver and gold when I feel like it.

I played Bronze until I got my baseline weapons up to X. By that time the guns were good enough and my skills were good enough to feel reliable moving up. Strangely now I rarely see anyone, even N7 < 120 rocking the Avenger X. I used that gun for a long, long, long time on my HME and AA.

i started on silver and started playing gold at lvl 80 started finishing gold most of the time at around 200 and started finishing gold everytime at around 500

Move on from Bronze after you have a working knowledge of all the human classes, and have your Common weapons and attachments maxed.

I had already got most of the way through SP on insanity, so bronze was relatively easy for me. The first time I got a character to around lvl 15 I think I stopped playing bronze and went into a bronze game. I think I was playing engineer or sentinel at the time, but I don't remember exactly.

Like others have said, 50/50 is pretty good for silver. All in all, I still pull about 50/50 with randoms in silver, so silver is where I stay.
