Well, he just woke up after falling a very long way, and since we only see a couple of seconds of footage, how do you know that no one is around to help? You're assuming the worst.

Someone on Twitter said a while ago, that he is still on the Citadel. So, who else is there?

The many many people on board the Citadel?

Highly improbable, after the Raepers took control of the Citadel.

So people just disappeared when Shepard went up to the Catalyst on that platform?

...did you *miss* all the corpses?

Did you miss all the trafic and moving lights in the background while Shepard was talking to the Illusive Man?

What would make you "feel good for beating it?"  What would make you feel "hopeful?"  Those are emotions.  Emotions can't be programmed into a game.  Those are reactions to what is in front of you.  What?  Should Bioware just keep churning out endings until you finally get one that makes you "feel good?"

If you don't even know what you want to see... how can you expect Bioware to give it to you?

Well it seems like most people would like to see Shepard get a moment of triumph with his squad, like in 1 and 2. I mean it seems to me like it's pretty simple what people want. People just want something in the same style as the 2 first.

IMO they could've had Coates or Baily, or even Aria coming along to pick him up in the breath scene. Would've been easy to make a lot of people happy IMO, just adding this would shut up all the people who don;t get that he lives.

*sigh* I think it is quite clear that many people get it by now what Bioware implies...but...*doublesighs* is there even a point in explaining why it still is not enough for a game that is all about the character of Shepard?

I sometimes get the impression that the more you actually cared and gor attached to Shepard the more you long for soemthing more than a meagre breathe, while if you are more distant and see Shepard merely as a bunch of pixels moving around you only care for the relays and the funcruise to jungle-planet as plotholes, but not that Shepard lying around there while your LI is sipping coffee on the normandy is ... silly and just as big a plothole?

Which people? The Citadel is the meat-factory of the Reapers.

A happy ending would be one that just makes you feel good for beating it. Something that feels satisfying. ME1 and 2 felt great to beat. ME3 felt terrible, because it's all just a mess, and the more you think about any of the endings, the worse they get.

ME1+2 were hopeful, even if you had to make sacrifices, and had to deal with loss, you could still hope for the future. ME3... not so much.

Beating the reapers on our terms. Feeling triumphant by winning a war on a galactic scale by the skin of my teeth.
You know, the whole thing mass effect has been building up to since ME1.

So I guess that was corpses and husks flrying around in all those vehicles in the background, while you were talking to the Illusive Man. Interesting!

Well, according to some tweets from BW there are kinetic barriers that protected the essential people who remained on the Citadel.

Okay... so you want the entire ending scrapped and rewritten then.

That's never going to happen... so... why are you still here?

And I would argue ME1 was building up just how IMPOSSIBLE the Reapers are to beat on "our terms", in fact reinforcing the exact OPPOSITE of what you wanted.

Hm, show me a video with that. When I use the free fly-cam, I can only see a large empty model of the Citadel in that area.

Hey man, the Citadel fleet was totally kicking Sovereigns ass before Shepard took it's shields down.

Well, you see the very first lines in ME1 were about how Shepard is supposed accomplishing the impossible...I guess too many fans believed that, like me for example...

I'm here, because I still love ME1 & 2, and I like to think about what could have been.
No, I don't expect Bioware to change the ending, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna shut up and be happy about it.

That's an interesting arguement to make, since building up allies and resources to fight the ever looming reaper threat was a big thing in ME1, and 2. Reapers being completely impossible to beat is something that's only shown and reinforced in ME3, not 1 and 2.

That because with free fly camera you don't trigger the encounters yet.

Well, some things really are impossible. I'd really like to be able to fly just by flapping my arms, but so far, it seems pretty impossible. Some things are just not possible, no matter how hard you try. Even Shapard had to face that fact.

At htis point I just want the breath scene expanded or replaced with a scene of Shep recuperating in a hospital.

Shepard had to face teh fact the writers abandoned her character and build-up as well as that all she did over three games was more or less rendered pointless. You maybe can't fly in reality with your arms, but you can write a story where it is possible if you want to (though I don't see it as a major success tbh !Image IPB)

Ok, I replayed the scene with free-fly cam and what you see in the background are debris. Only debris, nothing else.

....wait...the devs SERIOUSLY had traffics and lights on the Citadel? That's clearly a mistake because it makes **** for sense.

A tweet said most people on the Citadel ended up having a bad day (I'm assuming they DIED) save those who managed to escape.
