EA Doesn't get it, that they seem do think that they need to sell 5 million of every game to keep it alive.

If they've spent so much money on the marketing and multiplayer, then they don't just seem to think, they know they need to sell 5 million copies

EA treats its games as nothing more than a publisher's glorified slot machine. Throw more and more money at the project with the aim of getting as many customers as you can, reap the profits. Screw the content, there's gambling to do!

They are one of the things that is killing gaming and ya have point look at ME3 they spent so much money on marketing and look at the game's ending and its backlash to its endings and the EC and their lies about the game.

Aw, man. I was really looking forward to Dead Space 3... Until I got June's Game Informer, ugh. It's not even Dead Space anymore. I'm fully expecting the game to be underwhelming as any uniqueness it had will be thrown away for the sole sake of making money.

I'm hoping that I'll be pleasantly surprised and Visceral will be able to keep some of the Dead Space spirit.

But EA...just, EA. So frustrating.

Suppossedly the red marker was reverse engineered from the black marker, and the site 12 marker's blueprints came from the red marker. The red marker wanted to suppress the necromorphs while the site 12 marker in which Isaac made wanted convergence. My little theory is that all the markers are programmed to go through multiple steps(the rest are unknown) that includes infection, convergence, and containment. Minus the black marker Isaac coincidentally encountered the markers at different steps.(e.g the red marker during containment, and the site 12 during infection, and convergence.) The markers are probably malfunctioning, due to the fact that the black marker was found in impact crater, indicating that it might be damaged from it's descent through earth's atmosphere. Sadly this means the Earthgov reverse engineered a broken alien device, or the black marker is one piece of a bigger device.

The co-op doesn't bug me as much for a few reasons. One, it's completely optional and built into the story as such. Two, referring to the cheating horror fans, I never looked at Dead Space as a full-on horror game. If, say, Amnesia: TDD had it tacked on, yeah, I'd shy away from that. Dead Space has always felt more in the vein of a Super Metroid-esque game - an atmospheric, claustrophobic shoot-em-up.

I'll agree, however, that the tacked-on multiplayer in Dead Space 2  was not great. Sometimes you luck out with ME3 Multiplayer, but this was not the case. One of my favorite games, The Darkness, also made the same mistake.

As far as how the game itself will turn out, my gut says at least in the mid 8's. It's hard to tell from the little I've seen so far.

In conclusion, EA is fudging evil. I mean, that publisher is full of shipwrecks that make being a gamer a total pain in the bass. Well, I'll stop my itching for now and get back to the good stuff - Kissing the time away.

Mwah.

I am.

I like the atmosphere of the Dead Space games but that seems to be absent in the third game.

If this remains primarily an EA bashing thread, it's going to get locked.

I want to know the original creators of the black marker, what is their actual goal and why are they planted around the galaxy?

TBH, even Resident Evil has gone in this direction. Why? Well companies see the success of action games like COD and this makes them change their games and series to be more about action. The same happened to Dragon Age and Mass Effect.

Companies seem think that every gamer wants action nowadays and nothing else. *sigh* what a shame.

If the black marker was intended to be a wmd, then this would make it's creators colossal douche-misers.

I don't understand, how did the Necromorphs become?

I know the Marker has the symbols that shows how the Necromorphs work but how did the virus become? Was the virus inside the marker and we opened it? Or was the marker covered in the virus?

meh, ds1 and ds2 both are just okay games. IMO Three games are enough for this series.

'It was later discovered by a colonist that the Marker's inscriptions represented a DNA recombinant code for necrotic flesh that results in the creation of the Necromorphs'.

It explains nothing. It's just a code on how the Necromorphs are made, doesn't say where the virus came from.

I can understand the black marker causing infections because it might be coated in the virus, but how in the heck are man made copies able to produce the necromorph mutagen from symbols?
