I personally always imagines my f!Tabris to be like 16, because it seems a while back, and she's getting married into an arranged marriage, so 16 was about the regular age. Which also makes it kind of weird, considering she was lover to both Alistair and Zevran, and I imagine Alistair to be early 20s, and Zevran to be late 20s/early 30s.

Since I'm 32 years old, I'd prefer to play a character of a similar age, though in Origins, the warden is often described as young (ex. "young man" "my youngest"). I'm assuming that the Warden's official age is 18-22 years old.

I imagine my Warden Tabris to be a good solid 20. I was twenty when I first played the game, the character seemed about that age based on graphics and dialogue, and it seems right for her emotional maturity.

(I can see Cyrion being really indulgent or waiting till he could find a good match his daughter liked instead of picking whoever was available to get things moving. Could just be my imagination, but a lot of characters seemed to have a "It's about time you settled down" attitude, so yeah.)

Good question. I imagine my Warden to be 21 when he was recruited by Duncan. Old enough to be well discipline in arms, and just at that right age where his father wanted him to take charge of the keep.

Considering the timeline of the Origins game, I say he was 23 when the victory ceremony over the archdeamon was celebrated.

That means he was 24 when he assumed command as Warden Commander and Arl of Amaranthine.

26 during the Golems of Amgarrak excursion.

And 28 at the time of Witch Hunt.

So he was given a seven year time span before he disappeared with Morrigan into the mirror. Just months before Kirkwall blew up with the mage/templar conflict and Hawke ended up disappearing by fleeing on a ship.

That's about right.

Forgive me, but I thought Origins took place over the course of a year (little over, little under, whichever), Awakening took place about six months after the end of Origins, and Witch Hunt took place about two and a half to three years after the end of Awakening?

Am I wrong? I'm sorry, but I want to know so I can mentally calculate how old my Warden will be through the course of the expansion and DLC.

I like those ages.  I'd like to think that the Warden Commander/Arl of Amaranthine isn't a teenager.

I'd think around 19 or 20 when I play the human noble origin, but more like 22 or 23 for the other origins.

I never really imagine my Wardens are my age (42) since that would be...hmmm...we'll just call it "magical"...heh! I do find that I imagine the ages varying based on the Origin in question. For example; even though you are the youngest sibling (IRC) in the Noble Dwarf Origin, I still see that Warden being a bit older than say a City Elf Origin (mid-twenties for the dwarf, and late teens early twenties for the City Elf). I also imagine the Dalish Elf warden to be older, even in to their late twenties, while the Mage Origin works best (in my mind) with a younger Warden (18-20). And finally the HN; this seems to always conjure a Warden in their early twenties, while Fergus fits for early thirties...a 8-10year age difference just seems to fit the characters, for some reason. Could just be me though.....*wink*

*EDIT for typos*

Just to give you all sorts of funny meditations about age perception...
I once visited a medieval castle turned into a museum. There, was a surprisingly realistic looking painting of a lady who ruled over the place a short time during the fourteenth century.
She had a hard, slightly wrinkled and worrying face I surmised to be about fourty years old (a little more maybe).
Below her portrait was her short biography : She was married at twelve, had two children with the castle's lord who lived at war, leaving her in charge of the castle, and died at war, leaving his army on the brink of splitting.
It's seems she was quite spirited : She mounted a horse, rallied his men and led them to victory.
Upon her return, since her lands were of critical strategic importance to the king, he made her re-marry (I'm really unsure she had a say in it) one of his most trusted relatives. (The portrait I had seen was commissionned for the occasion.)
Less than a year later, she gave birth to a third child and died the next day... before reaching eighteen.
Examples of that sort abound (many of them much more recent, actually...)
I, personally, prefer imagining my characters about eighteen, though... Old enough to look grown-up, without being truly adult in the eyes of more middle-aged NPC (hence the many references as "child"), and also because it was the usual standard starting age for humans in NWN1...

The Warden (and any hero) cannot be under 18, or else Bioware got banned for underage sex

You are correct. In fact, this is one of the queries people have had with the DA2 timeline. If the Warden did go through the Eluvian in WH, why is he expected back in Denerim by King Alistair when he has been in Eluvian Land for two years or so. Does this mean our Warden returns from Eluvian land? Or just that the Eluvian option wasn't considered.

Back on topic, I imagine my Warden to be 20-21 at the Origin story, being 25 or so at the conclusion of Witch Hunt.

Where I live (England) the legal age is 16, and I'm sure it varies a lot around the world. I'm not sure they'd limit the Warden's age for that.;)

In Witch Hunt, Morrigan says that the child doesn't understand his destiny.  This made me assume that the child was at least five or six years old.  Which would place the Warden at 27 or 28 years old when he met Morrigan again.  This would be the seven years just before Kirkwall blew up.  I suppose the child could have been only for or five, and that would make my Warden a couple of years younger.

Depends on which Warden. Mostly I peg them late teens/early 20s. My Mahariel *should* be young but feels older in my head. My Amell is a re-used character concept; that character is always around 45-50. (I justify Irving's comment about the youngest to do the Harrowing by making it the -fastest-; I figure she didn't get pulled into the Circle until she was 40, going from apprentice to mage in just five years. She *claimed* her powers manifested as she started to hit menopause, but that was a load of bull to keep the templars from killing her. She'd been an apostate for years.)

To be in a consensual relationship is 16 (in most states I believe).  But the federal law of being an actor and having sex on screen is 18.

Anka: I am from Germany, where the age of consent is 14.
Archer: What is it, the Alabama of Europe?
Anka: In many ways, yes.

I reckon dwarf commoners (such as my warden) are quite young. The beggar in the origin story has a point, crime lords have no use for old gangsters.

I pictured him in his late 20s by the end of Witch Hunt. I hope he doesn't get too old in the 3rd game, otherwise the chances of him dying is much greater - with the taint and all.

I think the human mage warden is somewhat older than the human noble. She/he is from the amell family, and was sent to the circle because his/her birth caused an outrage in kirkwall. The human mage warden should at least be older than carver/bethany I think since they should have been born after the mage warden.

Unless it states otherwise, I always assume my characters, in any game, are somewhere between their mid-teens to early 20's - where in that depends on the type of game.

For example, I imagine my new Mage in DA:O is in her late teens, 18.
