Really, Bioware? Out of all the characters in the Mass Effect mythos, you pick the blandest, most uninteresting character in the entire series? No Garrus, no Blasto, no Mordin... Just Vega!

Yeah, that'll work. :?

He is Mac Walter's babby. Of course he gets his own anime involving something no one will care about because whatever it is, it won't matter because the ending.

I don't see why there's so much Vega hate. He seemed like a perfectly normal career Marine to me. I deal with Marines and Athletes everyday and it's pretty accurate. Just dedicated to their job.

I agree. I liked Vega because he was simple and likable. They can't really add a whole ton of Giant Plot Important Guys to the final game of the series and having a simple likable character was a nice change of pace from the Last Prothean, the Shadow Broker, Cerberus' Second-in-Command, A selfaware AI who developed emotions and has a robotic body of its own, an Asari Justicar (very rare), an Avatar of the Geth Concensus that can speak, the second human Spectre, AND the creator of the Genophage.

And that's only those who have been in your squad...

A simple guy was a very nice change of pace. He has more than enough backstory for an anime movie adaption too.

So you're all saying you like Vega because he's a dull normal marine? Didn't we have enough of that with Kaiden and Jacob? Since when is that a good idea for an anime?

He's alright i guess, there's nothing really wrong with him, but he's just so uninteresting compared to everyone else. He's not even that likable either, he comes off as a douchebag most of the time.

Is anyone really hungering for more backstory on this beefcake?

Hell,  this guy would make a better anime-character:

Personally i'd like an anime about Thane! Or even Blasto!

Well, I actually liked Vega but I really have no interest in his past.

I can't figure out why they push an unknown, mediocre character when there are so much more interesting tales to tell...

I liked Vega, thought his past was a little dull, but acceptable. Him and Shepard beating the crap out of each other was a bit of fan service I didn't mind. And his slight naivety about some things was kind of cute, but sometimes I wished his antics weren't so over the top. IE when Cortez (rarely) dies in my playthroughs,

I found Vega 'dull' in the blunt sense. He's dumb.
But not 'dull'  as in boring like Kaiden or Jacob are often referred to.

Here's hoping they'll use his in-game voice actor, it would be weird listening to him talk with a different voice.

While I do think Vega is a weird fit for a protagonist, I actually do want to hear his story. In ME3 he hinted about a mission he was on during the conflict with the Collectors, something that hasn't been explored outside of Shepard's experience. Even in Shepard's experience, we only saw the very end of the fight with the Collectors. He was asleep dead for two years. A lot of people feel like ME2's plot was sidelined by ME3, so realizing that the Collector abductions were much more widespread than just Freedom's Progress and Horizon would help to fortify the purpose of ME2's main plot. The Illusive Man did say "We're at war." It felt too short for a war.

I like Vega. I'm glad he got his own thang.

Just wish the VS got a little something, like a comic...
