So, anyone here have any theories on The Fex? Fex Broodmothers/Darkspwan? Is it possible? Can they do magic? Can they fly? Who knows!.

I wonder if there are any more unannounced races in Thedas..

I don't have any idea.
They 're from Par Vollen , maybe they're at war with the Qunari?
Since Qunari invaded this place too ...
I guess they 're supposed to have a purpose since David Gaider mentionned them.
I'm kinda curious about magic/faith /history..but I'm worried about what they could look like.
Or maybe the whole idea was abandonned and we're never gonna heard from them .^^/

I still think the name "fex" sounds silly. There's nothing wrong with just using the standard fantasy race names DG...

My thoughts on the matter exactly.

Though if they still exist, I'm not sure what they are. For all we know the Fex are a race of sentient cucumbers.

Maybe they are the goblins or gnomes of the DA universe.
Maybe they are spider people.
Maybe plant creatures.
Maybe an offshoot of the original species that became the original qunari.
Maybe they are fairy like beings, maybe wisp like beings, maybe reptile like beings.

There is just nothing on these things, and since DA3 will likely be Orlais, it is unlikely more will be learned, unless we get a Tevinter/Tal-Vashoth companion who talks about the time s/he saw one.

They just had first contact a few months before ME3 started. They weren't dropped either but just didn't make a physical appearance. They were mentioned a few times. Even if the few that went into space didn't try to fool the Reapers by returning to their relatively primitive homeworld the chances we'd see them were still slim to say the least.

They haven't been mentioned in any of the material so them not existing wouldn't be a retcon by strict definition.

Besides we know nothing of them other than the name and they automatically suck? DA shouldn't try anything original with its races? The Kossith are pretty cool so I'm hopeful for them if they show up.

Well I theorized that the Fex are dragonic creatures or something reptilian, so a Fex variation of darkspawn may be a tainted drake.
And since the Fex are from Par Vollen maybe when the Qunari came the Fex became part of the Qun or maybe the Qunari gave them autonomy as long as they don't resist or something.

Fex makes me think of Fed Ex.

Perhaps in DA3, the fetch quests will be handled by the Fex, and they'll send us to deliver packages around the world?
