Khihii, she’ll have to be wasted when the sober PC and Alistair arrive back at the camp. Zevran spiking her drinks could work… but… lyrium would give it a nice lunatic touch :D

Gameplay and lore make me confuzzled though – isn’t refined lyrium dust “safe” for
everyone? I mean, does it still have side-effects? o_O

It's safe in that it won't make you bleed from your eyes. On the other hand, it's addictive, and it's possible that consuming it has an effect on a person similar to real world drugs. It could be a psychedelic, like mushrooms, or euphoric, like heroin. Maybe it's just a mild intoxicant like alcohol. Make up what you want to until David contradicts you on it :innocent:

1. The Qunari have been living in Thedas for around 300 years now. They keep their mages crippled and in cages. This implies to me that magic is a relatively new development for them. So, did magic manifest itself in their populace after living a few generations in Thedas, or did they already know about magic before crossing the pond?

It's not a new development for them.

2. Are griffons extinct extinct or just no longer present in the populated segments of Thedas? Would adding them to the game break canon or ruin future DLC plans?

They're thought to be extinct. Short of finding THE LAST GRIFFON or whatever, I don't know -- I can't say what the future holds.

3. Were Arlathian cities always based in the middle of forests?

Arlathian? Do you mean Arlathan?

Arlathan was a city that existed in a forest, yes. It was the capital (and really the only) city of Elvhenan.

I have one question, Tamlen says that statue in the Dalish elf origin cave is an statue of some elven god if I remember correctly. But apparently those statues are everywhere. In fact that blood mage mansion in denerim have about 4 of them I think, so how can that be? I have seen them elsewhere as well?

I might be mistaken though here.

I don't know. Maybe it was the elven god of art re-use?

At risk of unleashing the full fury of the forum.....

I understand there are no horses (poor horses) but how does everyone get about in a speedy fashion? Oxen aren't very fast. The halla seem to be elf-exclusive. Or is it just a complete pain in the bum to get around?

[NB. NOT a complaint, just a query and my apologies if great treatise are written about this elsewhere.]

Great treatises has been written about this since February at least. There are horses, they are simply not implemented in the game.

Good shoes. Lelianna tips that one off, as she comments that Ferelden shoes are ugly, but practical. You can move pretty fast with good soles and solid arch support.

Wow, David Gaider replied to my post. "We're not worthy, we're not worthy!"

I imagined that everyone walked/marched along the old Imperium roads.

Wynne is definately over 50. I'd tag her closer to 60 looking at her face. Her hair is all white too.

Same deal with Arl Eamon.

i might be wrong but if my memory is right both brothers of Rowan (Maric's wife) were younger than her and beeing raised by their mother i forgot where, so if Rowan ,Maric and Loghain were about the same age (maybe Loghain was a bit older) that would make Eamon and Teagan younger than Loghain (from the story in The Calling or is it in the stolen throne)

Eamon is 15 in TST, so he's 46ish, if we take the 9:30 date for DA at face value. That may come as a surprise but the fact of the matter is that Alistair, whippersnapper that he was, drove him grey early. Indeed, the Arl often jokes that he was the lad's "Grey Warden" long before Duncan recruited him.

Wynn places her hand upon her brow, shaking her head gingerly as a sigh escapes her lips " Again with the Griffons. I swear, Getting Oghren to sober up will be easier than getting you to let that go."

Horses are usually reserved for Nobility. Hence the origin I think of the phrase "If wishes were horses then beggars would ride"

Horses were expensive to own and maintain. Oxen were cheaper and studier. Could be eaten, used to pull plow or cart.

hehe. My first character went completely OOC to pick those responses. They were just too awesome to pass up.

if lyrium is some kind of mineral, "refine" usually means taking other substances out thus making lyrium more "pure".

pure lyrium dose no harm, lyrium in natural state is deadly...

They might take out the "tainted" parts of the ore.

Maybe ancient elves were the first to dabble into blood magic? Who knows.

This one thing I hope it gets rectified in the sequel. There were many art re-uses of statues, doorways, chests, and walls, etc, that it broke immersion somewhat, at least for me. Consistency with lore is something I regard as nearly as important versus the need to make a polished and playable area under time and budget constraints.
