No, this isn't about ME3.
But it's always bugged me that your crew drop you off on Ilos and then later, Joker is calling you ready to jump up into the Battle of the Citadel with the Alliance fleet.
When exactly did your crew decide it was time to abandon Ilos and go? I somehow doubt they were able to track the Mako's jump to the Citadel, and Shepard is never shown radioing the ship to advise them of what is about to happen or what did happen.
I can imagine whomever you left on the Normandy arguing with Pressly to have Joker swoop in and drop them off as back-up or a search party.
Why did the Normandy leave?

I assumed that Shepard radioed off camera after talking to vigil. since at that point Shep knows about conduit and is in hot pursuit of Saren, to pop up inside the citadel. the only way for normandy to catch up is to head back to the relay and do its own citadel hop.
