Etymology! :wizard:

I like to figure out what people's names means. Sort of weird hobby of mine, really. I was bored and decided to look up some of the DAO character's names. I think it's really interesting stuff! I really lol'ed at Cailan's meaning!

Alistair - Anglicized form of Alexander. Means "defender of men"

Cailan - Means "child"

Duncan - Anglicized form of Donnchadh. Means "brown warrior"

Eamon - Variant of Edmund. Means "rich protector"

Isolde - Means "annoying ****"    Oops, actually it means "fair one".

Jowan - Variant of John. Means "god is gracious"

Morrigan - Means "great queen." In Irish myths she was a goddess of war and death who often took the form of a crow. Shale has good cause to worry, methinks.

Sten - Means "Stone"

Teagan - Anglicized form of O Tadhgain. Essentially means "descendent of the poet"

Wynne - Derived from "Wyn". Means "blessed, white, fair"

Couldn't find anything for Oghren, Zevran, or Leliana. Or Loghain.

I might look up some of the other side characters later.

You guys should add this info to the wikia: dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon_Age_Wiki

It'll get lost in forums such as this and on the wikia it'll be available for whoevers interested.

Good job.

Thanks! Found some places saying it might mean "icy" but they weren't positive. Updated my OP.
