I understand the themes and messages in the entire trilogy. But still, I don't understand why the reapers were interested in humans. I am using human nature as an argument here. Even in Mass Effect 1 you get that feeling. Humanity just finished the first contact war and when they were inducted into the council. Every other race felt like they never belonged. It only changed when Saren and Sovereign were defeated. I am just saying because even though these are fictional aliens. They just present themselves as being superior to 22nd century humans. Think about it! Humans still live on an average to 80 years, as to an asari which can live in multiple centuries. Humans are soft and fragile as opossed to turians and krogans who have tougher skin layers and strength(wel krogans anyways) I'm not saying humans are the weakest in the galaxy. I mean come on, the hanar, elcor and volus would never stand a chance. I just don't fully undertand why the reapers wanted the humans to be the new collectors.
Also if you think ahout it, humans kill other humans in the real. We literally pride ourselves in maming and killing each other. I just can't get the image out of my head of the other Mass Effect aliens monitoring humanity in secrecy from the 14th to 21st century and just laughing at them and viewing us as savages.

They never state that! However in the real world. Humans were originally meant to live until 40. It's only because of modern medicine that we able to live those extra 40 to possibly 50 years. The technology that the humans discovered on Mars. was really military technology. I never remember them entailing medical tech. Medi-gel is a cell regenerator, but in the games They only state biological disasters such as the genophage, or disease that are exclusive to an certain race.

i think it's due to the high natality rate also, there are a lot of humans in the galaxy, and are easy to kill.

due to the facts above they make a good harvesting species contrary to the others you stated, voles are slow no use in harvesting them, hanar are jellyfish, elcor may be useful but there aren't so many, the other species have more military strength making them harder to kill.

thats my opinion at least

I love how Bioware made humans sort of moderate. I honestly think that if the asari, turians, qaurians, salarians and korgans could have easily enslaved humanity in 2012 if they wanted to lol. Those races were aware of human existence, they just wanted to stay away from us. Which is what many scientist think in real life for aliens wanting nothing to do with us

Uh, yeah they do. Shepard says it in one of Liara's conversations in ME1.

there is actually and agreemeent of the council not to uplift any other race since the krogan rebellion so they let us evolve at our own pace, until we waged war against the turians for crossing the wrong rele:pinched:

I know of that. I'm just making a point that they viewed humans as a weak species. I'm not sticking to the 1 dimensional 1950's roswell aliens. But humanity was only worthy of entering the council when they discovered their "mass effect". Humans and krogans are so similar.

I think the reapers looked at Commander Shepard as the model of what humanity is capable of.

Never explained. Presumably, they're the only species suitable for making the more advanced Reapers.

There were hints that they were interested in Shepard and humanity because it was Shepard that stopped Sovereign but that would require the Collectors, and thus by extension, Harbinger to be completely retarded - it's a logical fallacy known as "hypothesis suggested by the data"

Probably because their "advanced" genes and some other factors made them best suited for the construction of a new sovereign class reaper capital ship.

Commander Shepard is gangsta. And he is human. Therefore, the Reapers are interested in humans.

Maybe the reapers want to play PC games or that PS TRIPLE. I wish a reaper came to Earth and destroyed all the gamestops in the world.

It's said in the game they are interested in us due to our varied genetic makeup.
(Which is biologically false - as a species, we are much less diverse than other animals on earth. Apparently, mankind went through a "genetic bottleneck" at some point in their history, with only a few survivors repopulating the species. But well.)
With the ending idea that Drew Karpyshyn had been toying with, there would have been further explanations as to why humans are so interesting to the Reapers. See http://www.youtube.c...AhKW7498#t=194s - it should already be at the position where it's explained.

Because the writers wanted it that way...thought it would strike a "nerve" with a wider audience and drive sales....rather than humans helping the turians or batarians. Personally, I was hoping for the latter, but then again, I'm not a lead writer.

The Reapers are particularly interested in humans because they were key in defeating Sovereign, and because of their genetics.

In the words of Harbinger (Mass Effect 2 quotes):

“Quarian; considered due to cybernetic augmentation, weakened immune system too debilitating.”
“Drell; useless, insufficient numbers.”
“Human; viable possibility, aggression factor useful if controlled.”
“Asari; reliance upon alien species for reproduction shows genetic weakness.”
“Salarian; insufficient lifespan, fragile genetic structure.”
“Human; viable possibility, impressive genetic malleability.”
“Geth; an annoyance, limited utility.”
“Human; viable possibility, impressive technical potential.”
“Human; viable possibility, if emotional drives are subjugated.”
“Human; viable possibility, great biotic potential.”
“Krogan; sterilised race, potential wasted.”
“Turian; you are considered...too primitive.”

Human have done in less than one century only what the other races had done in 10-20 centuries, in particular regarding the technology.

The Turians said themselves: "Humanity is a giant who's sleeping".

This. I think those lines were cut in the final game, but they're in the audio files and on YouTUbe.

In a nutshell, humans have very diverse genetics compared to the other species: they are the ideal candidate to turn into the next Reaper.

OP: It was because of the fact back in Mass Effect 2, the Collector's determined that Humanity had the "perfect" genetics to build a new Reaper, hence Junior. However, according to the Catalyst, all Races will be harvested, Synthetic and Organic, and stored in Reaper form. Ever since then I have no clue, seeing as we are no longer special as everybody gets reaped.
