Samantha Traynor was kind of an unnecessary character. Kelly was a lot better in my opinion

they really should not be compared, there jobs are actually completely differenet.

Chambers was there as an assistant to Shepard, Psychologist for the ship, and an Insider planted by TIM.

While Traynors job is to monitor comm signals for anything of relevance.

the only thing they have in common is they both stand in the same place, and they both remind you to check your e-mail.

Traynor because she actually does something useful.

Traynor. I found it easier to believe her as a communications specialist than Kelly as a ship's counselor

Is already enough for me to ask this question. Posted ImageBut I agree their tasks were (somewhat) different and to me Kelly seemed to add more, in a functional sense, than Traynor. But I liked Traynor nevertheless.

Traynor. Actually useful during a war. She overshadowed the Shadow Broker.

I got the idea Traynor was rather useless. Well, "gamewise" I mean. Maybe, next time, I should pay more attention to what her function actually entails.

Liara provided the means to end the cycle trap *crucible blueprint* AND the back up plan should things go bad * time capsule*

not enough for you?

Unfortunately nothing is ever enough for the Liara haters, and if it was, it would be too much.

There was an interested post a few days ago that makes an interesting case as to why Traynor's story (for lack of another term) is structured poorly, but you can't really argue her usefulness since she is the only one on the ship that gives you useful intel.

The game didn't present her well as a Shadow Broker. For all of her information networks and knowledge, I was expecting more from her.

True. But that was Liara the archaeologist at work, Liara the Shadow Broker did nothing.

On merit, Traynor contributed a heck of a lot to the mission... but I still like Chambers better. It's really close though, also I think my Shepard would need to get them to mud wrestle to see who wins before she fully decides who she likes better.

Traynor, even though she can't see the hotness of my ManShep.

I preffered Traynor she contributed to the storyline. Kelly just stood there and mentioned E-mails.. and would say things about new arrivals that I had already worked out for myself,

Chambers. Never really paid much attention to her until a recent replay of ME2, finally got my fish taken for. Listened to her insights on the crew for the first time in a while, rather than rifle through the text.
