If I had to choose, it would be Kelly. She was here first and doesn't look like an exact clone of my Shepard. Other than that, I like them both.

Samantha Traynor had humor, dignity, and smarts.

Kelly Chambers was--how can I best put this?--myopically perky, annoyingly effusive, and, um, probably suffering from low self-esteem issues.  Don't believe me?  Then take a look at this:

Traynor, on the other hand, manages to shut down (male) Shep's advances AND gets him to play another round of chess...after he had already lost!  Like I said, humor, dignity, and smarts.

Not really no. She only gave all the N7 quests because BioWare wanted to give overdue attention to the new addition to the ship.....should have added the "throw out of the airlock" renegade interrupt for both her and cortez as well as giving us the choice to bring Kelly back.

Traynor gets more dialogue plus an actual romance in her respective game, so it's to be expected she's more popular.

Personally, I just prefer Kelly more. I wish they'd have done something like with Chawkas/Michel and let you pick between who to bring onboard... or both of them in the case of Gabby/Ken and Adams. Traynor has something... off about her as a character, I think it's her whole "I realised the Turian signal at Grissom Academy was from Cerberus" out of bloody nowhere (even though the thought occured to me as well), as well as Horizon and such. Just seemed a little 'too' perfect for a Specialist.

Exploring dialogue choices aside my Shepard is loyal to his ME1 love interest, avoids sexual relationships with junior officers and never fully trusted Kelly's loyalties. Traynor was refreshing.
