How about since they're currently working on DA3, we let them focus on it and make it as high-quality as possible?

I'm with you on that.

I enjoyed both DA:O and DA2. I'm looking forward to DA3. I'm sure it will answer many of our questions about the (lack of)  epilogue of DA2.

It's too late for that now. Bioware will probably announce Dragon Age 3 before the end of the year, so the window on that has been closed for quite a while now. It's unfortunate, because it would be far easier than the extended cut for ME3. No CGI cutscenes or major rewrites are required, it just desperately needs an epilogue where you at least get some foreshadowing about what comes next.

We should have gotten an expansion.

Dragon Age 2 didn't sell nearly as well as Origins, and a lot of people who bought it weren't happy. It didn't make much business sense for Bioware to make an expansion for a largely unpopular game.

I wonders how for example the witcher can get new contet/directors cut.

Da2 really needs a directors cut. The game was hugely rushed.

Many I know thinks DAO is a great series and franchise. Da2 killed the franchise for many of them. If Bioware had made a directors cut that fixed spawn, reused maps and let people customize their party the franchise would live on.

Ok what about DA2 needs an extended cut? It's not like ME3 where the ending is unclear and we get a big heap of nothing, nor are we introduced to a new character who drastically shifts the tone and direction of the game. It's made quite clear what happens after DA2; Hawke either runs off or becomes Viscount and his friends slowly go their separate ways until Hawke disappears. Now I'll admit I'm interested in why the companions left and where they went but that's not really crucial information. Is it really that important to know what Hawke and co were doing before Hawke disappeared?

No need. The game is complete for me.
