Anyone elserun into this problem? Game runs fine mosty of the time, then sometimes it will just power down my pc...Has this been reported? I thought it possible that 'maybe' i had hit the cord, or power button, but after its happened several times, and almost always at or directly after the startup menu (sometimes between selecting "play" fro the shortcut, to resuming campaign)...Ultimate Edition, hard copy.

On a sidenote, i noticed an improvment in fps with 1.05...Until i started awakenings...Most of the time, more detailed environments, or several enemies in the immediate area cause major lag issues...Sometimes none at all...Settings dont seem to effect it in any way, shape, or form...

It is unlikely that the game itself is causing a shutdown of your PC. More likely, it is a problem with some other Windows component. If I had to guess, I would suspect it's a damaged display driver-- Windows 7, for example, will shut down the PC in lieu of the old "blue screen of death".

There's a blog post on how to do a clean uninstall/reinstall of your display driver linked below, in my sig. If that doesn't work, I would suggest you check out http://www.sevenforu...shes-debugging/ ... the folks at that forum are very helpful in diagnosing Windows-related crashes.

Thanx for the link..

My wifes run diagnostics, a repair, virus scans, checked the drivers, etc. and everything seems oo be in working order..It hasnt ever happened before and is always at the same spot at the main menu of DAO:Ultimate...I play(ed) many, may games on this pc,and it just doesnt happen anywhere else..Idk what to think..

It isnt constant, nor a once or twice occurance..Its now been about a dozen times, and as said, always at the main menu, or immediately after my selection to resume, load previous, etc...It was happening before and after the 1.05 patch, so im sure thats a non factor

What Brand is your power supply, and how many Amps does it supply on its various circuits? It may be already failing. They deteriorate at a rate of no less than 10% output loss each year, which is why we builders of systems prefer to over-specify PSU quality.
