If they wrote Garrus as being sexually attracted to Male Shepard, then his entire friendship is put into question. That being: is he really, truly 100% Shepard's friend (like he currently is) or is it part friendship and part wanting to get into his pants?

It does change the nature of the character and through that, their friendship.

Call me selfish, but I'd rather not have Garrus bisexual, for the sole reason that it's nice to have one exclusively straight love interest who doesn't die or cheat. MShep gets Miranda, Jack, Tali, and Ashley, FShep gets Garrus. I think that's a fair tradeoff.

As for romances that aren't in the game... Vega and Joker for FShep, and Dr. Michel for MShep.

No it doesn't. I play Femshep. I never once, not once, had the impresion that Garrus was trying to get into my pants. Kaidan did, James did (****), but Garrus? Never. He was only ever purely my friend. Also, you have to be the one to start any romance with him; he doesn't even consider it beforehand.

I think we got plenty of romances, I would rather have had the current ones fleshed out more.


Plus alot of characters are written in a way that (I feel) a romance would betray or diminish the character. Kasumi is one, Aria is another.
