I downloaded the new version of the ending AFTER i began playing my first round of the campaign, so i had not seen the original version before. Now i'm not sure which version i saw afteer completing the game. Naturally i wont spoil anything here, i'm just asking if anyone knows if game contect can be applied to existing saves? I also downloaded two free expansions from xbox live and i did not notice if they were available among my missions during this first playthrough.

You should have seen the new ending.
If the ending doesn't apply to existing saves then every gamer would have had to play through ME3 from the beginning again. The same goes for dlc content.
