For the main game yes, the meta-game not really.LPPrince wrote...
Doesn't matter what you use. You can make any team work with enough know-how.
Emolga is a good case for what I mean, it can help you win all the way to the end of the game, but can't really help with anything after that. Most other players will have no problem dealing with even the best Emolga there is.

I think you would be better off with Chandelure than Darmanitan. You need something with good special attack. But that's just from a gamplay point of view, go pick your favorites.
Braviary is a good pick by the way but if you can't get one, Archeops or Unfezant work well. It takes forever to get a Mandibuzz.<_<
Hm... Darmanitan was deadly when I used him. Guess I'll try them both out and see which one I prefer.
I usually just go with favorites but I'm seeing which Pokemon others use for a change. Might even like them.
I've never seen an Unfezant before so I might try it. I have used Archeops once before and it fainted in the first turn:mellow:And they went overboard with the high level evolution requirements. Level 65 for the best Dragon in the game?

Yeah, you really don't want to know the power of Shuckle...LPPrince wrote...
Good thing I don't play against other players then, hahahaha
@legion999 Unfezant may not be Pidgeot but it does have somewhat better stats. It's really not that hard to find a Pidove.

Magikarp is nothing compared to the horror that is Metapod.

I'm really suprised that I don't remember seeing it at all. And it's Pidoves evolution? I must have whited out everytime one went on screen.
EDIT: Wait I have seen it before just the pink version only... <facepalm> <facefloor>

Oh Shuckle is worse and boring to battle and use.LPPrince wrote...
Magikarp is what I'm really worried about.
Power Split, Toxic, Rest and Shell Smash/Sandstorm with Contrary now makes it really over powered.
Sure, its still going to rely on toxic to slowly kill things (the idea of switching its attack and defense is useless with its terrible speed) but it does mean that the one thing it did before... tank... it does even better now. After a couple rounds of boosts, Shuckle can even afford to sleep to heal because enemies won't be able to kill it in three turns! There won't be much of *anything* that can kill Shuckle without equipment and personal boosts and a couple of turns.
It now has a legitimate move that raises both of its insane defenses EVEN MORE that only uses one slot... AND lowers its terrible non-existant attack even *more*, which is *perfect* for attack split... split his 0 attack with the enemies' and turn them into weaklings... then sitting there and absorb their attacks.
It can now KEEP raising its crazy defenses, attack split with the enemy to make them harmless... then lower its attack again without switching out and losing its defense boosts. And the enemy can't do anything to lower its stats! (Well, they could boost them to lower them I guess.)
Contrary is an *amazing* addition for Shuckle. Its still incredibly niche and can't kill anything by attacking... but its even better at tanking and screwing up opponent's attack power now.

So if a kid needs the game to be easier, he/she needs to beat the game first, THEN get the difficulty setting?
NOT IF THEY HAVE A FRIEND WHO BEAT THE GAME ALREADY.
Stupid.

But I agree. Hard mode after beating the game is acceptable I guess IF it were on both versions, but Easy AFTER beating the game AND White 2 only? Where's the logic in that?
Also it might just be me but more and more does Black 2 look more appealing over White 2.

No, if you beat the game on White 2, you unlock Easy Mode. Beat it on Black 2 you get Hard Mode.

That almost make sme not even want to buy the game. that is seriously, one of the stupidest things I've ever heard.
